My S submitted his application through Coalition on 9/29. So far we have not received any emails from Pitt.

I just got off the phone with Pitt oafa office inquiring about my S’s application, and…they couldn’t find his application in the system! I was told Pitt has been experiencing ongoing issues with Coalition, and some applications were never downloaded into Pitt’s system. This is so worrisome. What do we do?

@hailtopitt1787 my son received the letter for senior year sat scores and midyear grades. is there a statistic or a guesstimate you can give of the percent of applicants to receive an acceptance after submitting that info last year?If he takes sat again and does not improve seems like that would indicate a denial.

@MomtoAndrew2018, Calling our office was the right thing to do. Now that they have your name, I am sure they will troubleshoot. Feel free to call back in a few days to double-check with us. We will be happy to assist you in this process.

@judyvegas, I do not have a specific number - but it is not uncommon. The Admissions Committee is indicating that they need more information before they make a final decision. Your son should just work hard to keep his grades up and perform well on his senior year SAT. Best of luck to him!

@hailtopitt1787 Thank you so much! I will definitely follow up with the office. Since Pitt is a rolling admission school, I am so worried this is going to put his application behind others who submitted later than he did, therefore affecting his chances. Pitt is his top choice!

Has anyone who took the August SAT heard back yet? I know many people who applied after me have received word from Pitt, but could my late SAT scores being sent in affect the time I get my decision back?

Will Pitt request a senior SAT score even if I do not indicate I will be taking one this year? My SAT is on the higher end of the average so I wasn’t planning on taking another but I am worried they will request one.

xi8a4go My son did not indicate he was taking again, and Pitt asked for senior scores. He is in the middle of Div 6A football season which is why he took SAT’s jr yr. With the football commitment its difficult to prep with tutors and SAT prep classes that so many kids use to up their scores, plus work hard to keep his grades up to submit them in Jan. He applied early hoping to hear of an acceptance early and cross some schools off his list. Unfortunately he will need to try and fit in another SAT test since Pitt is a top choice.Good luck

My S was accepted in CAS on 9/18; applied on 8/8. 3.9 ugpa and 1380 SAT

I apologize as I may have missed this, but for those of you who received requests from Pitt for senior year SAT score, may I ask which schools your kids are applying to? I assume this is for those more competitive schools such as engineering or nursing. My son applied as undecided to CAS and has a 1350 SAT.

@h2p1994 Thank you for sharing your S’s stats. It gives me hope. My S also applied to CAS, uGPA is 4.177, and a 1350 SAT.

@MomtoAndrew2018, Since it’s still well before the December 15 scholarship deadline, I wouldn’t worry too much. Just keep in touch with us and we will be happy to assist. 412-624-7488.

@judyvegas Thanks for your reply. Best of luck to your son!

Sorry I meant to say in #628 that my S was accepted in CBA with a 3.9 ugpa and 1380 SAT for anyone who’s wondering about the business school acceptance

@judyvegas … My son is in the same boat. SOL, Div 6A football right now that consumes all of his time and has to take the SAT’s again on Sat (after a game on friday ) . I can tell he’s exhausted from the rigorous football schedule to maintaining grades and to trying to prep for the test. . What high school does your son play for? Good luck to him!

@xiagao When I spoke with Admissions they said they like to see the applicant take the SAT scores 2 times. I asked what if he does worse? And she said they will take his best score. Good Luck!

Daughter applied. 34 ACT, 4.53 wgpa, APs : AB and BC Math 5 , AP NSL 5, AP Bio 4.
applied through coalition around 09/25. Anxiously awaiting response. Applied to school of engineering. Does anyone know if they take longer? Not sure if school requires other info.

@hailtopitt1787 So happy to receive my acceptance letter today! Just a few questions:

It says I am eligible for the Honors College, does this mean I am"into" the Honors College and can take the courses if I enroll?

Also, I applied for guaranteed admission, when do applicants usually hear back about those programs?

Thanks in advance!

I was just accepted to the Greensburgh campus for nursing, so excited . I was just wondering if it would be possible to transfer to the main campus after I complete a year at Greensburgh.

Does it mean anything if it says “You have no pending applications at this time” on the Pitt mobile app under the Admissions tab?

So I got the acceptance email on Wednesday and today I got a letter in the mail that doesn’t say anything about my acceptance, and just talks about the benefits of being the the honors college. I haven’t gotten any other letter. Does anyone know what this means?

Just realized the date on the letter says Sept 26-the day I sent in my application. Maybe they just send it to all applicants?
