University of Pittsburgh Class of 2022

@Borodad, the committee meets every Friday I think (once they start meeting) and looks at a few students’ applications every week.

If he is going to retake, I would let Pitt know so hopefully his file will be reviewed with the new scores.

@CValle I believe IT will contact her by email with her student portal info within a few days. She should be able to see what they have and what is missing there.

@pennplz, If you are already sending transcripts, we ask that you do not also fill out the SRAR. You are good to go!

@BoroDad, Yes, that should be fine. Please let us know to expect another ACT score so that the Scholarship Committee will know it’s coming if they happen to review your son’s account prior to receiving the scores: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

@CValle, Your daughter should receive confirmation email shortly after. Make sure she checks her spam filter! She can always call if she has questions: 412-624-7488.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

I applied September 4th and was accepted September 18th for the nursing program if that helps. Also, my stats were GPA unweighted: 3.8 weighted: 4.2 SAT: 1410 all honors and 5 AP’s

Just wondering if someone could give me some guidance on my acceptance chances. I applied to Pitt in August, buut my scores were received the 18th of September.

GPA:3.56
SAT: 1080
-Currently attending one of the best high schools in Pennsylvania, have taken over 10 honors courses throughout high school, and have taken 2 AP courses.
*I know my SAT score is low

@tm72399, Are you planning to take the test again? My D was asked to submit senior year SAT score and she scored 1270 last spring. Now she is preparing for Nov test. I think the deadline for registration without extra cost is tomorrow. Maybe call admissions and find out if they reviewed your file. But we are OOS.

@Sgmom17 Senior year SAT? I have heard of Pitt asking for senior year gpa but never SAT? I took the August SAT and my scores went up. No, I’m not planning on taking another SAT.

@tm72399, Yes that is what they asked. Mid-year grades and senior year SAT because she only took the test once. They told me on the phone they would like to see two set of scores.

Anyone else left who applied in August and hasn’t heard anything yet?

@Aida I applied on August 1st and haven’t heard anything yet, but my August sat scores were revived on 9/15

Just received the acceptance email! Applied to School of Nursing, OOS
32 ACT
95.31 W gpa

I applied on September 22 and just got my acceptance email today. I have a 3.6 UW 4.1 W and a 1570 on the SAT.

@aida Did you note on your application that you would take another SAT or ACT? Pitt may be waiting for new scores. Just a thought.

@pct3 He will not be testing again. He applied to the business school - maybe this is why it is taking longer? Don’t remember if I’ve seen any business school acceptances yet…

My daughter applied aug 4 and we got letter Friday that they need her mid year grades. I know it’s not a no, so we will keep our fingers crossed. Congrats to everyone that received good news. My D loves Pitt so much.

Hi, @hailtopitt1787! I was recently accepted to the University of Pittsburgh and had a question. Would I still be able to send in my ACT scores, that I did not include in my application, for scholarship consideration?

@StudentStudies

See #602 above. I had the same question.

@BoroDad Thanks!

Does anyone know when the business school will be releasing decisions or if they already have started?

@netchick If you don’t mind me asking what are your daughter SAT scores, GPA, etc. My son is taking the SAT again on Saturday and Pitt is waiting for those scores. He got 1180 on the ones in march and his UWGPA is 3.6 and weighted is 5.2. Rigorous AP and Honors and dual enrollment classes now, but I am hoping he is more prepared and does better on the SAT. I’ve given him as many tools as possible to improve, its now up to him

@Aida… my son applied to CBA in Aug. when it was about 6 weeks with not hearing anything, we called OAFA and they said he was in committee review and that he woulnd’t get in with his math scores. They said he can change to A&S as he would probably have a better chance to get in which we did. I mentioned that he would be taking another SAT as he only took 1 and they recommend the students take SAT"s or ACTs 2x. She said they will note his app that he’s taking the SAT on 10/7. About 1 week after that, we got an email saying they will wait for his 2nd set of scores. I have seen very few CBA acceptances on here. I would call to check the status if they recommend anything else for your son.

@Strang404 … how do you know when your SAT scores are reviewed?
