After applications are submitted, how long did it take for you guys to receive the portal login info?
Applied Oct 28th , received video notification today. Does anyone know if the GAP would be included as part of this ?
@momclassof2018 , is it Aug 28th or sep 28th that you applied ?
Thanks
@momclassof2018 , the GAP invite/notification comes in a letter about a week after the acceptance letter. The GAP programs vary, though, so there are differences. Good luck!
Anyone get a merit award offer? Also, does anyone know whether you must submit a FAFSA to be eligible for a merit award at Pitt?
I apologize for my ignorance - what is GAP?
GAP means Guaranteed Admission Program.
@finnb You do not have to submit FAFSA for merit consideration. D received her offer last year in November and I’m pretty sure we didn’t do FAFSA until months later.
@Winky1 it would probably depend on whether the selection of the students invited to interview occurs all at a certain time. Or if students are selected as they apply.
@basketball84267, Yes - if it says you are eligible it means you are eligible to enroll in honors courses as a freshman. Pitt’s Honors College is not membership-based, but students who meet specific requirements are considered automatically eligible to enroll in honors courses. honorscollege.pitt.edu has more info!
Congrats!

@winky1, I believe interviews are held after the Dec 1 deadline has passed (but I am not 100% sure). Feel free to contact our office if you have more questions about the process! 412-624-7488

Did anyone else get asked to send senior year grades?
@finnb, A FAFSA is not required for merit aid consideration. We do encourage you to submit the FAFSA though - it is necessary to determine your eligibility for need-based aid.

GAP question- Do you get a letter if you are declined admission? Waiting on Pharmacy, got the general acceptance letter on Sept 26th.
@zZMilZz yes, asked for mid year grades and any recent ACT or SAT. Which won’t be available until Dec/Jan. The waiting continues.
So they requested my mid year grades and if I send them in January but I still don’t get into the college of engineering, could they still offer me a place as an undeclared major in the college of arts and sciences?
As anyone been accepted to Pitt that has chosen the pre-information science major?
When do merit aid notifications start coming out?
When is the financial packages coming out to students? Also now that I am admitted what can I do before and after accepting my admission.
