University of Pittsburgh Class of 2022

@brirenn1007 Hey! I was accepted to the nursing program earlier last month. I’m always excited to see a post from other intended-nursing majors. Best of luck!

For anyone who’s looking for more examples about the Pitt Med GAP, hopefully this will provide some more info for @bsms2018 : I applied 9/17, received GAP Notification Invite along with a general Pitt Acceptance on 9/25. If you get a Med GAP invite, you have exactly one month from the date of receiving the invite email to apply. The Med GAP Supplemental has two essays, two LoRs, and activities sections. Because I had until 10/25 at the latest to submit my supp Med GAP app, I submitted two days ago itself. But we won’t hear back about interviews for next-round candidates until February/March, it seems, so a January invite notification seems possible.

@skipper99, thanks for your response. Could you please share your stats, if you don’t mind?
Thank you

@collegelife389 Hey what app are you talking about? I tried looking for it in the app store but I couldn’t find anything

Is there any way to know if Pitt recieved your SAT scores before you submit the application? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Thanks!

@Hopetobeapittmom Hi! You said you called the OAFA to see what was happening with is application. Did they actually tell you that because of his SAT score he doesn’t have that great of a chance because I tried asking them and they gave the generic response of what their stats are. Thanks!

@momclassof2018 and @RUPITT —exactly. This happened last year. It doesn’t matter really if you indicated Medicine GAP or not. The Medicine GAP is highly competitive and you will be invited if they want you to apply. Sounds like invites are going out, good luck to those still waiting!

@momclassof2018, The best ways to reach us are via email or phone: oafa@pitt.edu and 412-624-7488. If you contacted us using one of those means, we will be happy to assist you as quickly as we can!

@xi8a4go, After applying, you should receive an email from our IT Help Desk (within a few days of submitting the application). The email has information about how to log in to our application portal and check your status. It will let you know there if the application is complete or if we are waiting on any materials.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

@RUPITT. Yes, we were having a conversation about something (can’t remember why I originally called) and they said lets look at his app and she said that she noticed he only took the SAT 1x and was he planning on taking them again and I said yes. She then said, well I can tell you he won’t get into College of Business Admin with his low math scores. I asked, Are you able to tell me if he can switch colleges and go undecided and apply to A&S and she said he can because nothing was happening with his application so there was still time. So my son sent an email to OAFA requesting to change his college selection to A&S. I checked his app status about 30 mins later and he was undecided in A&S. about 1 week later, we got the email that they will wait for his 2nd SAT scores to review So we are still waiting because the 10/7 SAT scores don’t get released until tomorrow. Hoping he has a better score. His first was 1180, 5.21 Weighted GPA, 3.6 UW.

@Hopetobeapittmom thank you so much!

Congrats! Admissions emailed me back and I should find out my decision in 10-14 days. When they last contacted me (October 5th) they notified me that everything was completed. it’s been 2 weeks since, so I’m hoping for a decision within the next week!

Congrats to all. I’ve been following this thread. D applied 10/8, accepted yesterday, 10/18! Very excited. She applied to Dietrich, medicine GAP (haven’t heard yet). Stats SAT 1450, ACT 34, average 93 in an all honors competitive admission h.s., with grades trending upward over 3 years.

@hailtopitt1787 Thank you. My D is way ahead of me. She put her email in last night to the admissions office.

Hello @bsms2018 ! My stats were 36/1600, 4.0 unw. good numbers, but probably not enough med extracurriculars. so enough to get the invite, but i don’t think i’m going to end up with a good shot at an interview

Yes I received both the email and the letter of acceptance to Pitt and the honors college. Good luck!!!

My S was admitted for Business - if anyone is looking for an example of time frames/stats for Business here is his experience: 1330 SAT (660 verbal, 670 math), 3.75 GPA, in state, answered all three short answer questions. Application was initially submitted on 9/24 but was complete Tue. 10/3, saw the buttons on the app on Thurs. 10/12, got the acceptance email with video on Mon. 10/16, and got the acceptance letter today, 10/19. This site has provided great information - thanks to all for helpful discussions, and to @hailtopitt1787 for responding to all these questions!

@skipper99, wow that is stunning stats. I am pretty sure you will reach your goal. My best wishes to you .

@bsms2018 Thank you! Best wishes to you and your D as well!!

D got email invitation to apply for GAP medicine today! Yea!

On the app, it says that I do not have any pending applications at this time. What does this mean?
