Seansdad
Seansdad. My son visited over summer and fell hard for Pitt.
Just got SAT back .
SAT 1550. Math 790 ,
11 AP courses. , all A grades
Major = Chemical Engineering
Applying this week , In State, hoping for Merit /honors .
Any feedback on Merit Scholarship award guidelines/amount of aid ?
@hailtopitt1787 - on the app it says that there are no pending applications, does this mean my application was viewed?
I just logged into my Pitt portal and it’s showing this:
"This application is Incomplete.
Outstanding items for this application
Application Fee
11/19/2017
High School Transcript/GED
11/19/2017
SAT/ACT Scores
11/19/2017"
I already paid the application fee and submitted my SAT scores and thought I didn’t need to send a transcript since I did the SRAR? I only submitted my application last week, does it just take some time to update?
@DogsAndMath23 - Hi, from what I have gathered through this thread, it does take some time for it to update. For the SAT scores, it can take up to 3 weeks for the college board to send it to Pitt so if you just sent the SAT scores they may have not gotten it yet. I also believe that the app does not update over the weekends. Hope this helps!
I applied on Friday (10/20) to Dietrich and the Pharmacy GAP so I’m guessing I should get a reply back within 2 weeks. However, I submitted my 1470 SAT ahead of time and I got a 1540 this October SAT. Should I resubmit my SAT?
@EmZoWe - Hi, I think you do have to submit your scores for the October SAT. You could also call OAFA to see if they got the October SAT and the College Board and see if they sent it. Hope this helps!
If anyone wants an idea of Biological Sciences applicants, I just got in on Friday.
GPA: UW- 3.4 W- 3.8
SAT: 1320
Out of state
Good luck, friends!
@RUPITT, Yes - you should hear from us really soon. Best of luck!

@hailtopitt1787 - I called the office and they said that I wasn’t supposed to get that information yet because I sent my application on Thursday and I got this information on Saturday so I was wondering if this was a mistake? Thanks!
@RUPITT, It typically takes us about three to four weeks to turn around an application. I can only speak generally because I can’t look up your specific account. If you called our office and they did not give you a specific action item, you should be good to go and will hear from us soon (in a few weeks).
Best,

.
@hailtopitt1787 I submitted my application on Friday, but I have not received any email confirmation from Pitt or information about how to track my application. When am I supposed to get an email from them?
@blue290, Check your spam for email confirmation. The email with information about how to log in to check your application status comes within 3-5 business days from our IT Help Desk.
You are also welcome to call us to check that your application went through in the meantime: 412-624-7488.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@hailtopitt1787 thank you!
@hailtopitt1787 ; could you help provide some guidance. My D had emailed the OAFA on the 18th about the GAP letter she got for engineering though she requested to be considered for the GAP invitation for medicine in the Coalition App. I am guessing the office is inundated with emails and calls. How long should we wait before she follows up ?
@hailtopitt1787 , same issue here. Even though my daughter specifically applied for medicine GAP, she was invited for public health for some reason. She emailed on 10/19 to consider for medicine GAP, no response to the email yet.
@momclassof2018 and @bsms2018, It does take us much longer to respond to email (we get so many). Calling should get you a faster response: 412-624-7488.
We answer the phones from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
Daughter applied 10/13… the waiting is agony! I check her status every day. ha
D accepted to Swanson! She downloaded the app a few days ago and saw the buttons to accept/decline. Email arrived this AM.
@DfwMomof2 Hope you hear from Pitt soon!
