@hailtopitt1787 When reporting Coursework, should you include Middle School grades (for high school level classes such as algebra) even if it’s from a different school and not listed on your high school transcript? Thanks!
@Benji3205, Yes - you will get a separate email from our Technology Help Desk with your log in information!
@moncomom, If your high school level middle school grades will not appear on your official high school transcript, please contact our office to discuss how best to report them to us: 412-624-7488.

Thank you!
I was wondering what my chances are to getting into Pitt. It is my dream school and my number one choice. I took my SAT again and I am still waiting for my scores back. I am also signed up for the ACT to take a second time. I got a 23 on the ACT the first time but I am certain I can get it up a lot more than that. I am also taking AP Calc, AP Physics, AP computer science and other honors courses
I have:
3.71W GPA
SAT Scores- 1130 M-570 R-560
ACT- 23 (taking them again and I will get a higher score)
Wrestling Captain for 3 years and going to be varsity for 4 years
Vice president of TSA
In another club that helps freshman at school that you had to be nominated for by your guidance counselor
@hailtopitt1787 Quick question and my apologies if this was already asked, will notifications be made via email, the portal or regular mail? Just curious what to expect. My Daughter applied in mid August so thinking possibly mid October to hear if she was accepted. Second question…financial packages are sent later correct?
Students who are admitted to Pitt will be notified via email and will then receive a letter. All other admissions decisions are sent out via letter.
Scholarship consideration starts in October (those who apply before December 15 and submit short answer questions are automatically considered). Notification of scholarships is also rolling and the notification letters are typically sent out November-March.
Financial Aid notification letters are sent in February or March.
If an admitted student chooses to commit to Pitt, they must pay their tuition deposit by May 1.
Hope that helps!

@hailtopitt1787 If I submitted my application late August when should I expect to hear back?
@kwtgtc --post #97
Those who applied in early August should hear back by late September. Once we catch up with the initial large influx of applications, we will typically be in touch with applicants within three weeks.
Best of luck!

If you get selected, is the Pitt Guaranteed Admissions Program binding for all Graduate Schools (I’m specifically looking at the Law School)?
Also, does Pitt superscore the ACT?
Has anyone received their acceptance letter yet?
I got access to my portal for the first time today and I’ve already checked for any changes about 20 times. This is going to be an intense couple of weeks! hahaha
Is Pitt’s admission and merit scholarship straightly by the GPA and standardized test? it seems that it only asks for the standardized test scores and GPA…
Here is a little bit of context:
In recent years, scholarship eligible students possessed ALL of the following:
Minimum SAT score of 1480 or ACT composite score of 33
Overall ‘A’ average
Challenging high school curriculums consisting of AP/IB/Honors courses
Top 5% class rank (if applicable)
NOTE: The above criteria are provided for the purposes of guidelines only and not meant as scholarship requirements or guarantees.
This text is taken from our website. Check out oafa.pitt.edu/scholarships for more information.

@hailtopitt1787 ,
what is the meaning of “Overall ‘A’ Average?” Is it 4.0 weighted GPA?
Thanks
Hello!
It means that the average grade you received is an A. We do not have an exact GPA threshold because our review is holistic. That said, review for our scholarships is very competitive, so past winners have possessed all of the criteria listed above.

Thank you
I am in the process of completing the application, and don’t see a place to report SAT subject tests or AP scores. Should I just have those sent to UPitt the same way I send my SAT and ACT scores?
In reference to post #112, does Pitt contact the guidance couselor for class rank if the school does not officially rank? I believe there is a good chance my daughter is in the top 5% at her school, but there is no way to convey that without the counselor getting involved. Just curious.
@winky1, If you cannot provide class rank on your application and let us know that your school does not officially rank, then we will not pursue unofficial class rank. We will just look at all of the other helpful information you provide in your application. We don’t penalize students who cannot provide rank because their school does not track it - so nothing to worry about!

I logged into the Pitt mobile app and upon clicking the admissions tab, I was led to a screen that had my app number, school that I chose, and two buttons saying “Accept” and “Decline”. Has anyone else experience this? Does this mean acceptance or is that just put there everyone?
