For our D, the merit letter came separate and around 2 weeks after the acceptance letter.

For us it took 2 months to receive merit. I believe they send merit letters out through February.

We live on the easy coast, NYC metro area, my kids applied to UCONN, URI, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, TCNJ, Temple, UD, UMD, Pitt, UMASS Amherst - chasing merit. I’m sure I’m forgetting some.

We are close to the same timeline and stats. We still haven’t heard anything either. I hope things start up again next week.

Thanks for the update! Good to know a rough timeline.

If you are chasing merit and your ACT is over 30, you need to look South…at schools with rolling admission - Alabama - mostly out of state kids, many from the Northeast and the Missisippi schools.

I know, unfortunately my kids want to stay within a few hours of home. Dd21 has a 33, Dd19 had a 34 so I’m hoping my senior will get similar merit offers from similar public OOS school as her sister, bringing costs down to in state. My other senior has a 30 so will probably go to college in NJ.

For out of state students, I’m not sure I could help you much. Obviously California has the best public schools in the country (even if you don’t go to UCLA or Berkeley, there are plenty of amazing public schools). In terms of affordability, a lot of good east coast public schools are not affordable out of state. I applied to Florida schools because they are good and affordable. USF and FSU, even UCF, are very affordable and quality schools. UF is amazing as well but will be a little bit more costly.

I may be a bit late as it’s already January.

Anyone heard about admission to honors yet ?

where do you check for buttons? Is it an app because I am having a hard time finding the portal

I had the same problem (“Buttons? What buttons?”). If you sign in to the Pitt Ps Mobil app (which I did on my desktop), under Admissions, click on Accept/Decline Admissions. If you’ve been accepted at this point, you should see two “buttons,” one that says “Accept,” and one that says “Decline.” Hope that works!

my daughter has not heard about honors and she’s been offered honors at every other college she’s been accepted to so far (except one that does honors app in February)

My student got the buttons today! Applied mid-Nov but missed some info. Application was ready Dec 7th.

  • OOS, public suburban high school.
  • 4.47 GPA (Or around that)
  • 35 ACT
  • NMSF, NHS etc
  • 10+ AP courses
  • Nice set of ECs - Science, sports, research, volunteering, and leadership. But no national level recognition or solving world hunger plans.
  • No idea how the essays were! I had no input in the application process.

Pitt was a top choice - it was the Goldilocks of schools.

Last year honors came out around Jan. 10th. I thought I read somewhere they were coming out end of Jan. this year but I could be wrong.

Can you explain the buttons to me? I’m not too familiar, where does it show up?

My student checked, so I’m not exactly sure. But from what I understand, when you login to the portal, you’ll see ACCEPT and DECLINE buttons which weren’t there before. If you see that, it’s the first sign that you’ve been accepted. The email and snail mail will follow a few days later. I hope this helps!

You need to login via Pitt mobile

https://psmobile.pitt.edu/app/springboard

Go to Admissions panel on left side you will see either no pending application message and later the famous buttons

Hi everyone! I just got my buttons today! I was just wondering if anyone knew if the College of Business Administration is business admit or business preferred thank you!
