University of Pittsburgh or Boston University

Hi,
I’ve been accepted to BU and UPitt and I want to know some opinions about each University. They will both cost me roughly 36000. I’m interested in the Natural Sciences, Philosophy, Political Science, and Creative Writing. I have no idea what I will end up majoring in though. I’m worried that BU won’t have much of a campus life. I was a fan of Pittsburgh’s campus and the appearance of their student life, although I’m reluctant to pass up UBostons education quality and surrounding city.

I was also accepted to:
Rutgers at 31000 yearly but that seems pricey for my own state school.
Drexel and it’s honors college for 33 a year
Dusquesne for 27 a year.

BU has the higher ranking, but I would consider them peers for undergrad.

So this should be all about your preferences. Among the things to consider:

  • Academics: distribution requirements, available majors, class sizes (likely similar here), research opportunities if applicable, ease of changing majors, etc.
  • Traditional campus at Pitt vs. the non-campus at BU.
  • Sports/social life and vibe
  • Boston vs. Pittsburgh
