University of Pittsburgh or University of California San Diego

Hello I am having trouble selecting between the University of Pittsburgh and UCSD. I was hoping for an outsiders perspective. I’ll be taking finance as a major at both colleges. I live on the east coast so Pitt is financially a much cheaper choice for me.With all costs considered UCSD is roughly 40,000 more that Pitt. I’m ok with taking out student loans and also moving to the other side of the country but I’m wondering if it’s worth it. I was wondering what school I should commit to based on all aspects in particular things such as the alumni network and schools that pay you back.

Hail Pitt! The allegiance to Pitt grads by Pitt alum is strong to the point of eyerolling if you are not a Pitt alum : ) If you aren’t from the Pittsburgh area, I hope you have visited Pittsburgh and the Oakland and surrounding areas around Pitt. Pittsburgh’s growth in tech and business has been mindblowing. You will find a plethora of internships and jobs. Pitt is only growing and becoming more and more of a significant school. My daughter was accepted there with excellent merit aid. Funnily it was a “safety”–we didn’t realize that Pitt can’t be considered that anymore until the application process. The weather will definitely be better in the winter at UCSD.
