University of Richmond Deferral to Eventual acceptance rates

Her essays were excellent. She got into the nursing program at UVA which only had a 5% acceptance rate, and she has an amazing full-tuition scholarship opportunity at another private University, which is likely where she will be going at this point. Just goes to show you never can tell…

PJPS1969 Congrats to your son by the way! Will he attend Richmond? We did visit just a couple of weeks ago and although we loved the campus- which is GORGEOUS - the truth is that it would be crazy for her to pass up the full tuition opportunity.

Thank you so much but I’m 99% sure he will not be attending Richmond. It’s just way too much money. His first choice is actually UVA coincidentally but he was deferred EA & now we are waiting for RD. Congrats on your daughter’s acceptance there…I would have thought that would have been way harder to get into than Richmond! It’s all a crapshoot!! Yes, please go with the full tuition opportunity! She sounds like an amazing girl!!

Hi everyone, I was deferred ED this year. Anyone deferred ED and was accepted RD?

If I were Richmond, I’d be careful playing games like that. They risk losing some really talented kids that did all that was being asked of them. Good luck to your son!

I was deferred EA just now! Still searching for '26 forums to see if I can find some tips

My son deferred. 35 ACT, 4.5 weighted GPA at a top public school in MD, two varsity sports, decent extracurriculars. Don’t get it.

I don’t get it either. Those are really good stats! I hope he is having some good luck elsewhere? My son was also deferred. 1510 SAT, 4.1 WGPA, top NJ public, Varsity Lacrosse and some ECs…He has been deferred at a few schools now. This is not working out as we expected, but he has one good option and is keeping his chin up.
