University of Richmond EA decisions

@onthatgrind477 , I see on Informed Delivery a small envelope and not a large 8 x 11 so it will be a rejected I’m sure. Not even thinking defer because not sure how often they do that, and it’s DS most “stretch” school anyway. If it’s anything but large envelope, it will be a No or Defer.

Don’t be too concerned if you receive a deferral. it feels crushing, but may not be the end of the world. A deferral received during EA process could be for multiple reasons - a kid from your school has already been accepted there (usually related to Sports) or so many from your area. All colleges are looking to diversify and are more willing to accept during EA those in locations outside of where they normally recruit from. Being in the Northeast, the majority of the kids in the Northeast apply to Northeast schools. I had my D deferred to a top school in the NE during EA only to be accepted during regular admission with a note that she was in the top 5% of all applicants. then why defer in the first place if she was in the top5% of all applicants? good question, other than the diversity aspect during the EA process.

Did anyone from California get a letter?

We were surprised to receive the large envelope this morning/Bay Area CA

Accepted with 3.75 and 31 on ACT

Does anyone know approximately how many applicants are deferred?

What about Southern CA?

My S just got accepted with a Presidential Scholarship. 4.24 gpa and 33 act. My D2 is a 2nd year Richmond Scholar. From NOVA

Accepted
GPA: 3.83 W and around 3.74 UW
SAT: 1430 / 690 (Reading) + 740 (Math)

Congrats to all who were accepted and fingers crossed for the deferrals!
Curious, was anyone denied? Or are all being considered in RD?

Accepted!
1520 SAT
3.8 UW gpa
7 AP classes

unless you are far out of the range that a college considers, you will just about get deferred all the time from EA

Rats! No envelope today in the Midwest. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow.

Accepted from PA with the Presidential scholarship— 1/3 of the tuition. 34 Act, 1500 Sat, 4.0 Gpa, lots of extracurricular but my essays were weak. For everyone deferred or waiting- good luck! Wherever we end up, I’m sure we will succeed  I know Richmond Scholars are notified later on, but if I got the Presidential scholarship does this mean I won’t get that one? If anyone knows please share!!

Accepted, even though the website did not show the deposit link yesterday. Wanted to post this to give a hope to those who may not be able to show the deposit link.

Accepted EA:
3.4 GPA
1510 SAT
33 ACT

In the letter they had a section for “what we saw in you”. They said that I had commendable academic achievement, impressive writing ability and strong interests that would add richness to [their] community. Is this the same for everyone or specific to me?
