I am a junior in the #1 high school of my state and was really interested in Richmond. My counselor listed it as a realistic school and said I should get in. If I have a 3.78 unweighted gpa and 3.9 weighted with a 1890 on my SAT do you think I will get any amount of money off my tuition with these numbers? I would love to hear from someone who goes there and got money off.

Three years ago, DD2 applied. We live in Oregon. She had a 4.0 (valedictorian) and 2100 SAT and strong EC’s. She was admitted but received zippo in merit aid. She chose to go elsewhere.

Be aware that tuition rises every year.

with a <1900 SAT, not a chance. I found a report a couple of years ago which posted the unhooked numbers at 2200/33+ if I recall. On top of those great stats, the scholarship students had significant community ECs.

What bluebayou said ^^.

Richmond scholars and other merit award winners have exceptional grades and incredible ECs and scholastic interests and ambitions. They seem to be (per my observation) the students for which Richmond is something of an obvious, shoo-in match and the Ivies or near-Ivy LACs are the target schools.

When you look at URich’s numbers, it suggests that you have to have much higher stats to get merit money.

I would estimate that students with 2200+ SATs are the ones who get the merit from URichmond.
