University of Rochester Bausch and Lomb Scholarship?

So, at my high school award ceremony, I was told that I received this award..
The letter said I would be contacted by U or Rochester soon, but I haven't been (it's been weeks)

My main question is, the letter says that the application fee has been waved, but how does that work? If they are a common app school, what do I do to not pay the fee?

Whoever at your HS received the award in the mail has a letter to you from UR. You could ask guidance or the science head if he/she has the letter. I speak from experience–I handle the award for the HS where I work.

@MaDad, I have the letter, but it does not explain how the fee waiver works. IT just states that if I choose to apply, the fee has been waved. But I don’t see how one could wave one fee in the commonapp. Again, I am just a junior so I am not all-too familiar with the commonapp, and may be wrong, but I would need to know that asap

On the common app, you just choose the dropdown that says “High School Award Winner”, and it waives your fees. DS was a Xerox winner and that is how it worked.

@Daddio3, thanks. Is there any proof you have to provide? And is it extremely simple to figure out?

No. I figure they gave the award to you so they know who got it. If you lie and tell them you got it when you didn’t, I suspect that will reduce your odds of getting in pretty substantially (as in zero chance  ) so there is no point in lying. And it is just a question labeled “Fee Waiver” or some such thing. You’ll work it out  Also, my son got more than the $7500, so that is only a lower limit, not an upper limit. And I think it is a very good school, though he selected Northwestern over it. I think he still has a little regret.

@Daddio3, If you don’t mind me asking, how much did he get, and what were his scores (SAT/ACT?). I think the upper limit is $20,000, but I was wondering what qualifies for a higher award.

Thanks for the help, by the way

$14k (2200 SAT, 750+ SAT 2s, GPA 3.8 UW / 4.2 W). Decent Recs but not amazing. Good ECs but not amazing.

Alright, that’s about where I’m at (slightly higher GPA, slightly lower SAT 2’s); thanks so much for the help
