I am from new York.

I received my letter today! Accepted! :D

Congratulations to all those with acceptances! My middle son is a freshman there now and absolutely loves it.

Hello

Has anyone in MA received a decision yet?

Not yet unfortunately

@TSocash, will you notify us when the merit aid notifications have been mailed?

For the first time, we are going to notify students about their merit awards via their MyRoc accounts.

If you have been awarded a merit scholarship, the merit award should appear in your MyRoc account approximately 7 business days after you receive your acceptance letter. It will not appear beforehand, and this is by design, as we want you to receive your acceptance letter prior to the merit award!

Unfortunately, not every student will receive a merit scholarship. To see if you may be competitive for a merit award, check out this link: http://enrollment.rochester.edu/financial/estimator/merit.aspx

Once again, this form of merit notification is new for the University of Rochester. For those who have been accepted, congratulations! Log in to your MyRoc account 7 days after receiving your letter to check on merit: https://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/myroc/

(Need-based financial aid information will arrive via email - to whichever email address you’ve provided during the application process - approximately 10 business days after receiving your acceptance letter. This need-based package is sent via FAOnline.)

Hello @TSocash

Are also the applicants in western MA going to receive their results by tomorrow?

biscou,

All ED I applicants who completed their entire application by November 1st should receive their admissions decisions by December 15th.

If Monday arrives and you still haven’t received your letter, feel free to give us a call at 888-822-2256 and we will investigate the issue.

We are happy to help!

Thank you very much

So far I have been accepted to all ED and EA schools I applied to. The merit aids offered from these EA schools are generous. I hope U of R will offer me the matched amount.

I hope you realize you only get to apply to ONE ED school - and it’s binding to go there if you get accepted… If you applied to more than one - YOU applied incorrectly (and unethically) and could be denied admission at all of them if they find out. It’s definitely not a good position to be in. Your signature on the app meant you understood you only got one ED school… (EA is ok for more than one, but your ED school is where you should be going since it was binding. EAs are not.)

one ED and 4 EAs. I love U of R and I will enroll this beautiful school.

I still hope U of R will offer me some merit scholarship, at least the same amount my other Ea schools offered. I will find it out early next week, hopefully Monday.

If you’ve been accepted to a school through Early Decision, then you’re planning to attend there, right? So it doesn’t matter if Rochester accepts you? Or is Rochester the one and only school you applied ED to?

See post #17. Student is expressing hope that Rochester (ED) will offer same aid as the EA schools. Not knowing what those EA schools are, hard to say.

My information:
- R of U accepted me as ED without merit scholarship information availabe yet.
- CWRU offered me $23,000/year as EA
- Northestern university offered me $14,000/year as EA

I hope R of U will offer me merit scholarship of $20,000/year!

Gotchya - good luck on receiving merit, roch123! You should find out soon, right? :)

Ditto the good luck from here!

@Tsocash,
Will the financial information be notified today? I was trying to log on MyRoc account but it does not work today - site update in progress for notification?

I haven’t been informed about any MyRoc shutdown.

Has it been more than 7 business days since receiving your decision letter? No merit decisions are released before that. In fact, I’ve been told that it can take up to 2 weeks after a decision letter has been received for merit decisions to become finalized.

If you are to receive a merit scholarship (remember, not everybody does) you will get an email notifying you when to check your MyRoc account. A draft of this email was just shown to the Admissions Counselors today (I didn’t know about it beforehand).

Best of luck to everyone who applied! Remember, you can always call our office if you have any concerns.
