My daughter received an email 10 days ago of her acceptance and her package came this week.

I have not heard back too!! I logged on to check, and it says that they received my transcripts on Dec 13. So maybe thats why, when did you receive yours??

KeeterMom, where are you located? I was notified about 2 weeks ago and I still don’t have my packet)): I’m in Houston

I live in Boston and it took about 12 days for the packet to reach me!

I just got my packet today in Houston!

S received packet which included application for Honors Program and Alcala Merit Award. Has been accepted to SCU also but still waiting on Occidental and Pomona. Pretty sure
that merit awards are sent out with acceptance letters and additional aid including grants, loans, etc. come out after FAFSA is submitted

I haven’t heard from them and I applied EA. No emails, no nothing. I’m worried but I sent my fee waiver late.

I havent heard anything, no mail, no email
I applied early action and live in Texas
Does anyone know if they notify denials later? Or they process each application then send acceptances at various times? Should I be worried

One of my kids applied EA there and heard before Christmas. Another one applied EA there and heard around Jan 15th the year he applied.

I applied EA from Toronto, Canada and haven’t heard from them yet.
So USD sends an email but is there any notification on their portal?
Thanks for the help!

Finally received my package in the mail (I live in New York). Awarded the Presidential Scholarship ($10,000 a year for 4 years). I will probably go to USD if I am rejected from UCLA and USC.

mere24, the portal is updated and an email is sent once a decision is made. a few weeks later you get your admissions notification in the mail.

Thanks rosyhours
I got deferred from LMU so I’m not expecting an acceptance from USD but I’m still anxious.

mere24 and others waiting to hear:
This was our process of notification: My daughter applied EA and was admitted mid-Dec. The first communication was an email around Dec. 16th telling her so. She received her envelope in the mail the next week (in the midwest). The letter is dated Dec. 15th. She said USD also congratulated her on her portal so that also indicates that she was admitted. So it seems USD covers all the bases. I hope this helps. There were other posts that said they haven’t heard either way and one parent said a child heard in mid-Jan. in a different year so there’s still hope! Good luck! :)

I’m a freshman at USD who got admitted last year, and I’ve got to say this: academically USD is underrated by everyone and a little overrated by its own students. SBA is ranked third of all undergrad business schools on the west coast, and it’s academic index rating is only behind Cal and Stanford, ahead of UCLA and USC. The schools suffers in overall rating due to various reasons (size, profs not doing research, etc.). Plus, we have Dr. Pyke, who ran Darmouth’s top ranked MBA program serving as our SBA dean. You will not find Harvard calibre students here, but it’s good, and IMHO better than SCU.

To all other potential Toreros, congratulations! And if you have any questions, I’ll be glad to answer them if I can.

@The Question

Is there a certain breakdown (test scores…etc.) that can be used to get some type of idea how much merit one can receive? Thanks

Hey pnom9999

I did not apply for a merit-based scholarship (if that’s what you meant by merit?), but I do have some friends who did, and yes it is based on academic performance. Their SAT’s were around 1900’s to 2000’s, and their GPA’s were 3.7-3.8 and above in high school. I’m sorry I can’t be more clear on this, I’ll try to ask them and get you a more definitive answer!
