I'm studying at Tulane, and although I like the school, I'm unhappy there and want to head out. I've got my eye on USF, which I know might be stupid, considering Tulane is the superior school, but I'm dumb enough to place my happiness above the name of a school.

Anyway, what can you guys say about USF? The vibe I'm getting is that it's not too dissimilar to Tulane, which is what I want. Just curious as to what else goes along with it.

I don't think getting in will be difficult for me. My biggest concern is financial aid and whether or not I'll receive enough to satisfy my need. Are they generally good with that kinda thing?

What is it about USF that you've heard that would give you the impression that you'd be happy there? And why would you want to transfer into USF if you feel as if you'll be going to a school incredibly similar to the one you currently attend? And if you like Tulane, but are still unhappy, are you sure that what is preventing you from being happy is the school or other personal issues. You don't really fit the profile of someone who should transfer in my opinion.

I'm studying at USF and I think the academia is a joke. The people here are great and friendly, but if you think you're going to get a good education, think again.

They fill your mind with useless liberal arts ******** and social awareness crap. If you care about your future career, don't come here. Your dreams will be compromised.

What are you majoring, by the way? Tell me why Tulane is making you feel unhappy, and I'll tell you if USF is good for you or not.

I actually want to go to Tulane. Want to switch? My grades are good, but no great. I'm planning to get out of this hell hole called USF.

My reasons for transferring are all personal and have more to do with other things than with Tulane, which is why I don't want such a big change. It's not the school that I'm dissatisfied with - it's other things.

San Fran is a lot of the pull. I'm not looking at public schools in the area because I'm out of state and I wouldn't get much, if any, aid. And USF is the one I know is in the Best 361 Colleges guide, and that definitely has a lot to do with it.
