University of South Carolina Honors College vs. Penn State Schreyer

I’ve been admitted into both for the class of 2021, and I’d like to go for engineering…

I’m from State College, and so I know Penn State quite well which has its perks, but I feel like it might be too close to home, plus it’s freezing here all the time! I really want to go to USC because I want to fly the coup so to speak, and I guess my question is if I will get a comparable engineering education/opportunities at USC as I would at Schreyer… I just feel like although USC is ranked above Schreyer, Schreyer might have better name recognition? I’m utterly at a loss with this decision… both schools are great options I feel, but Penn State is a much better Engineering school and so another question I have is if I go to USC will I have the same opportunities for grad school as I would at Schreyer? Thanks for your input

If you have any specific questions about engineering/Schreyer, let me know – I’m a junior in ChemE.

Thanks bodangles, I talked to ChemE major the other day at Schreyer and I’m confident that Penn State has a very good engineering program, I’m wondering more about how good USC’s is…
