Can anyone tell me if parents can discuss and help their son/daughter make their class schedules with the advisor? I heard only students are allowed to visit with their advisor to make their schedules.
Most schools only student. I created their schedule And saved it on the app. If UofSC has an app for registration then you could pre save the course work
Great idea! I’ll look into it. Thanks
Only the student meets with the advisor but you have access to the curriculum online so you can make a schedule ahead of time and your student can’t take it to the meeting. The advisors love it when the kids come into the meetings prepared.
You can basically make the schedule ahead of time but there are chances that the classes you want fill up since so many students are trying to get into the same classes at the same time. Have backups and other options. It’s best for your student to know their curriculum based on the major map to have some backup options and already have look at professor reviews prior to orientation.
And except for honors courses, the students can change their classes after orientation. You can monitor sections of things you want and grab spots if they open up all the way up to the beginning of class. D changed hers twice after orientation.
