It started with “WHY WE’RE WRITING YOU: Additional information or action is required….”.
It later says “This notice is not an indication of an admission decision. Financial aid information is gather and reviewed from all financial aid applicants, regardless of admission status.” Even though they said that, is it really true? I’m probably reading into this too much (I’m really excited and nervous to hear back) but did anyone else receive this e-mail? Thanks and good luck!
The financial aid departments do at least preliminary preparations for everyone who applies for aid. They cannot do so until your application materials are all received.
We got that email. USC says it is not evidence of admission, but who knows? I found out from U Denver that we had been selected for further verification. They told me it was actually by the federal/FAFSA system and that 1/3 of students have been selected. Some are random, some had something in their FAFSA that triggered it.
So, maybe that's why USC asked us for more information, I'm not sure. Only 2 schools asked me for more info.
Be sure to log into the USC financial website and see what they are requesting!
Thanks Maggpie! That makes sense! Did you get into U Denver?
