University of St. Andrews as an American? Chances?

Hi all - if anyone could chance me that would be great! I am applying to the University of St. Andrews, would submit my app any day now.
I am a white American female, although I am going to school in the UK and have been for all of high school (my family has just moved back to the States so I would still pay tuition as an American)
4.4 GPA
30 ACT
I am doing the full IB diploma, I’m applying from an international school in London, my prediction is a 37
EC’s:

  • theatre (lead-roles in every school production since freshman year)
  • varsity softball for all four years of high school
  • editor-in-chief of the school newspaper
  • travelled to Namibia (southern Africa) for a service project, fundraised for this for all of junior year
  • national honors society

Working on my supplement now but I think it will be very good. Any thoughts?

St Andrews wants a 38 for IB.

As you know your gender & ethnicity are not relevant for UK applications, but your US tuition $$ would normally help. What subject are you applying for? be aware that IR is particularly oversubscribed and is getting pretty competitive even for American applicants.

Does anyone know if it is easier or harder to get into one major vs another as an American student? Someone told my son not to apply to International Relations even though that is what he wants to study because they said it is the hardest major to get into and it is very easy to transfer once you get there. Anyone thoughts??

Why not just apply to IR and another program too? Ucas let’s you apply to up to 5.
