University of St Andrews versus University of Chicago

Two very different options, I know. I'm interested in international law and therefore, law school. At St. Andrews, I would only have to take courses that interest me- and not fear the science and math grade point struggle. It is one third the cost of Chicago and offers intriguing travel opportunities. On the other hand - Chicago offers the intellectual rigor I crave, well worn paths to great US law schools, a great reputation and fabuous city.

Any thoughts?

Didn’t you know about core when you applied? I think you should go to USA.

To be honest, I would recommend St. Andrews and consider UChicago for graduate/law school. St. Andrews is most definitely on par with UChicago in terms of academic rigor and both are well-known (depending on where you go, of course). You shouldn’t be disadvantaged when applying later for law school, but you will have saved a lot of money. But, it’s up to you.
