University of Tennessee @ Knoxville

Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to look at this and possibly respond if you know anything.

I am looking to transfer to UTK in the Fall of 2014 after receiving my AA in Liberal Arts from Northern Virginia Community College. I want to get into the Interdisciplinary Studies Program for Linguistics. Here are my specs:

High School:
GPA: 3.2
SAT: 600 Reading, 610 Math, 520 Reading
Rank: Top 25%

I took mostly IB classes and scored quite high on the IB examinations. I still have a great relationship with my IB Coordinator and she is willing to write me a great recommendation.

NVCC:
GPA: Currently a 2,2, but by the time I actually send in my application it will be a 2.6. (I know that this won't be considered, but my gpa dropped because I was planning on joining the military, but some things went wrong and I couldn't join.)

I would like to hear what you guys think. Especially if any of you happen to have been in the same position as me, or know anyone in a predicament like mine. Thanks for your time.
