@MrRoh Thanks! I had a 1490 SAT and am rank 4/584 in my class with a 5.627 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted). My extracurriculars and volunteering had me worried the most because they weren’t really leaning towards pre-med or anything like that, but I got accepted so yeah! Hope this helps!!
Did many non-AA in-state students get in? I applied to international relations and LAH… 34 ACT, 1520 SAT, top 7.5% of my class. Just wondering because it seems like this wave was mostly auto admit and OOS.
@lsufan4301 I know 3 people personally who got in non-auto admit tonight. its a small amount sent out tho, and supposedly there is another wave next week
@Texasmom71 thanks for letting me know! I sure hope I get into BHP.
Daughter got admitted to McCombs. Non-auto, in-state. Waiting on BHP. No interview yet.
From the history I know, Honor Programs notices would come out 5-10 days after Acceptance to your major. Not all but most. Some came weeks later. I don’t remember anyone getting Accepted into their major and an Honors Program on the same day/night. Congrats to all that got their decisions tonight.
Just checked the portal with no expectation of getting a result and got accepted to CNS for Neuroscience! OOS California. ACT 34
Admitted to first choice Journalism! Auto admit, 31 ACT. Still waiting on Moody College honors
To make those who didn’t get accepted today (especially OOS) feel better, you’re not alone. No response from McCombs, 35 ACT, 1550 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA, etc.
@orsenior thank you! very thoughtful and appreciated!
I got in today!! I’m non-auto admit and I applied priority. Here are my stats for anyone wondering:

- GPA: 3.83/4
- AP courses: HGAP, World history, APUSH, Gov, Research, Seminar, Calc AB, Physics, Bio, Lit, Lang, APES but I didn't do so well on the 6 AP tests that I took so far
- Race: Asian female
- Rank: School doesn't rank but I'm in top 15%. Super competitive
- In-state/lives in Texas
Extracurriculars:
- Currently doing a mentorship with a cardiothoracic surgeon at a major hospital
- Orchestra All Region Freshman year, made all region every year
- First chair cello in school honor orchestra
- Participated in a Dallas orchestra called GDYO (super competitive, must audition to get in)
- Volunteered at church and SPCA (50+ hours)
- Key Club, NHS, HOSA
- AP Scholar w/ Distinction
Major: English (this probably helped my chances a lot because I don’t think there are too many applicants applying for english)
Good essays that I worked on with a tutor
Good recommendation letters
I still can’t believe I made it in haha. I thought I had a very slim chance of getting in since I’m non auto admit, but I made it!! So don’t give up Good luck everyone!
son got admitted to his major (gov) and plan II in that first wave on same day friday before thanksgiving (IS AA) - submitted 10/21 but also applied to LAH which still says in review. Also no info has been updated on financial aid during these weeks in the portal.
Does anyone know when they tell you if you have received any financial aid? We filled out the FAFSA. When we check under my daughter’s Financial Aid tab it says something like not available yet. Just wondering when they issue it. Not sure she will get anything, but I would just like to say for all of those people that think filling out the FAFSA hurts your chances to get in, clearly it does not.
We are OOS and I grappled with pulling the FAFSA application because of information stated on CC which was false. It got me so nervous about whether we hurt my daughter’s application but after asking in another group I’m in, someone contacted their financial aid office and they clearly stated that all decisions are completely separate from admissions decisions, as they should be, because it is unethical to decline someone based on their ability to pay or not.
UT McCombs was her first choice; Congrats to all that got in so far!!
DD got accepted to McCombs today! BHP interview was done on Wednesday. No status change on Honors tab yet!
My son got accepted into Cockrell - MechE. We are in state, auto admit. Unweighted GPA 4.0, 6/547, 1430. He submitted on 11/1 but his docs got there later in the week so we thought we’d have to wait until Feb sometime. A huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders. ?
@atexasf23 are you sure about next week?
@dcmom3boys Same boat for us. I am not seeing anyone getting notification for Moody though (IS or OOS). Good luck to you!
@Ashaps725 there is no guarantee but last year they released waves on Fridays leading up to Christmas all the way through Friday before Christmas …
Has anyone received notification / updates this morning as opposed to last night?
I got in as well! Non-auto admit to the College of Liberal Arts, intended major is government
