University of Texas at Austin Class of 2024 Admissions / Preparation

Applied on Oct 20th; non-auto admit and current status is in Review with stats 3.70/4.26; 35 ACT applied for Bio major.

Has anyone here with non-auto admit has been admitted yet?

@icedmachiato For A&M if the SAT score is above 1360 it will be automatic

My son applied CS Honors as first choice and second choice is chemical engg. His rank is 35 / 834, under 5%. GPA is 3.9583/4.0000. SAT score is 1410 (790 maths, 620 english). Eagle Scout and also in Band. Auto admit. If he doesn’t get CS honors, will they put him in regular computer science? How does it work?

How this can happen? The test score and GPA are so great. why is in 6.5%?

should they do CS regular first, then honor?

@JonnyF, please see previous page for my answer.

Anyone else get a “Please log in to MyStatus” email? I checked and nothing’s changed on my account. Is this the email they send when you get a decision?

My daughter got an email today, not sure what the heading was, but it was just saying that they received FAFSA information. No deciaion on financial aid was given.

My DD got that email today as well. She has been accepted into the College of Liberal Arts. Her banner changed too to say, “Gone to Texas,” so we’re hoping that cute banner comes in the mail! She was AA. Found out on 9/30 that she was accepted. Waiting on Plan II & COLA Honors. Any idea when we’ll start hearing Plan II acceptance letters?

So quiet

Please share with us if anyone admits to the first major applied. Thanks!

Congrats @mom21sweetgirl !!

Hello,
What are the chances for my DD to get into McCombs with the following stats:

3.9 GPA Weighted.
1290 SAT
9+ AP Classes including Calculus
JV Golf Team Member
Ton of extra curricular activities, including founding a club and being a Coach with First Tee of FTWTH
Not in the top 10%. Goes to very competitive high school.
Really good essay and recommendation letters

Thanks for any feedback. When will we hear back. We applied early action (Nov 1st).

Standard test (SAT) score may not enough. https://texadmissions.com/blog/2018/5/16/advice-for-ut-mccombs-school-of-business-applicants

Congrats @mom21sweetgirl !!

CONGRATS @mom21sweetgirl!

I am sure your son can get into UT CS. GPA is such a game played by many (students/parents) and I am sure AO knows the game rules.

What are the chances to get into Cockrell School of Engineering with following stats:

4.13 GPA Weighted.
1420 SAT
8 AP Classes including Calculus BC (4)
Physics Honors in Senior Year but no prior Physics
ECs include NHS, Computer Club, Key Club, School Orchestra
In State - Top 20% in a very competitive high school.
Good essay and recommendation letters
Missed nearly 2 months of school due to sickness in sophomore year, but continued with course work including 5 AP subjects in Junior Year
We applied early action (Nov 1st).

redit is saying there are some folks that are getting some CS acceptances. Some are saying they are starting to come out.

@2shahruhkh1 McCombs takes class rank very seriously into account. It’s always a crap shoot if not in the top 6%, and with a 1290, not sure. Make sure your daughter has other options she’s excited about in addition to McCombs.
