Great news! Congrats! When your daughter sent out the applications again? Thanks!
@JonnyF, her application completed 10/02/2019. Thanks.
is it a bad sign if my transcript still says in review? i submitted all required documents before the november 1 deadline but the transcript still hasnt been processed i guess. is there anything i should do about this?
@m0tionsickn3ss , we are on the same boat, DS submitted app on 10/16, still transcript in review.
@m0tionsickn3ss, have you called admissions to ask? My daughter submitted her transcript in late September and it was in review for a couple of weeks but was cleared prior to the priority deadline. There was nothing she had to do - just part of UTs process to make sure minimum course requirements were met I guess.
@txstateomind i haven’t called, i had kind of assumed it would be processed by this point but it hasn’t, do you think i should?
@m0tionsickn3ss My guess would be that there is a backlog due to large number of apps submitted before the deadline. However, I don’t think there is any harm in calling. They probably can’t answer specifically about your application but they should be able to give you a general answer that would ease your mind. I assume if you have all required info submitted prior to Oct 1 deadline, then you have met the priority deadline requirement. It should state that on your my status page as well.
Hi! I am currently a High school junior in Houston. I am starting to look at different universities to see where I want to go and I have decided that I want to stay in the state. My class rank is currently in the top 50% (it should go up in senior year) and I haven’t taken the SAT yet but I will in march and I am trying really hard to get a high score on it. I know that my class rank won’t get me into UT Austin but would I still be eligible for CAP? Because I would much rather go through the UT system to go to UT Austin rather than go to UH, but don’t get me wrong, UH is a great school and I wouldn’t mind going there but ideally I really want to go to UT Austin. I also know that through CAP, UT Austin only guarantees admission in the college of liberal arts which i’m not interested in. Also what GPA would I need to keep? I would love any other advice anyone has as well! Thanks!
@m0tionsickn3ss does is show that the transcript has been received by UT? I think that’s what matters.
@cardiqueen it says received but “in review”
Thanks!
Yesterday it was “Transcript in review”, tonight that item is gone, but still showing: Your application for admission is in review.
Waiting…
Joining this thread in the hopes of learning more about the UT McCombs admission process. DS applied to BHP within McCombs on 9/30. No word yet. We are OOS so interested in what OOS people have heard at this point.
@chitownseniormom there is a mccombs BHP forum for class of 2024, just search it and you will find it!
Thanks @Texaslonghorns1. I did see that, but not much activity yet for 2024 so was just joining multiple forums.
What does OOS mean? Does anyone know when, on average, we will start hearing from the McCombs School of Business?
@UT2024 OOS = Out of State
Autoadmits are already getting their acceptances to the university, but they don’t have their majors yet at this point. What I have read is typically in the past people get their acceptances into their departments and whether they are accepted as holistic candidates in ‘waves’ The first wave of acceptances isn’t until early December. Although according to one college consultant who specializes in UT, some very top students got acceptance notification the day before Thanksgiving the last year
My daughter is auto-admit and received her acceptance a few weeks ago (but hasn’t been notified about her major). I did see on reddit today that several folks were admitted into their major yesterday and today. @Jennibc
@cheerchoirmom, my kiddo is an auto-admit, admitted in September, and now admitted to his 1st choice major (but still awaiting honors decisions which won’t come out until later) sometime yesterday.
MyStatus Changes after being admitted to major
Upon logging in, his 2nd choice major was gone from the box on the right, he has the big burnt orange “Gone to Texas” logo, with an updated banner message that welcomes him to his major and the class of 2024. There’s now an additional tab in MyStatus for “What Next” (Required: Register for Orientation, and log into “MyUT”). Under “To Do”, it now asks for immunizations and final high school transcript. Finally, under “Recommended” items, there’s now a recommendation (with link) to join his class on FB.
I don’t know if this is a “wave” per se, but some admitted students are, indeed, getting decisions on their majors earlier than the first spike last year (which seems to have happened around Thanksgiving, IIRC). One of his classmates was admitted to his CNS major yesterday as well.
