University of Texas at Dallas full-tuition scholarship announcement

I have recently applied to UTD and have been admitted as an international student for the Mechanical Engineering program. However, I have not received any information about the automatic scholarship, which would be essential for my education. Is the scholarship announced before or after admission decision? If after, with 1470 SAT (Math 800, EBRW 670), 700 Physics subject test, 800 Math II subject test, rich extracurricular activities with leadership (but just good enough, not really outstanding), 9.0/10.0 GPA in Vietnam, would I have any chance for such scholarship? Thank you.

Hoping the Texas folks can reply…but are any of these automatic? I see words like “will be considered for”…

The scholarships are not automatic and nothing is guaranteed, but based on your stats, I think you have a good chance to receive the Achievement level which is full tuition and $1000/semester stipend… If you receive any AES scholarship, you will get instate tuition. The scholarship is announced after the acceptance on a rolling basis. It appears if you were accepted by early Dec., you would know by now. Acceptances after mid Dec have not been awarded yet. If you have not heard anything back by mid Feb, I would contact them at interest@UTDallas.edu. If initially you do not get it, you can ask for a reconsideration at that same email address. Several students have done that and were successful and the ones that weren’t were told why not.

@thumper1 @GTAustin Sorry, I misused the word. I was thinking a scholarship application without essay is automatic. I applied in early January, so hopefully I am still qualified. Thank you for your help.
