Hi, I am currently a high school senior student. To those who have been accepted into the pre-pharmacy program at the University of the Pacific, I have two questions.
What are my chances of entering the 2+3 year pre-pharmacy program?
How is college life while being in the program? Is it tiresome and overwhelming with homework, mid-terms, projects, and exams or laid-back and enjoyable? (I’m not a procrastinator, but sometimes, I tend to want to have some free time.)
Hey I don’t have an answer but I’m also interested in that field and college if u get any info please share thank you
Hi @“Yukihira Soma” I’m currently in the UoP 2+3 pre-dent program, and as a pre-dent I can speak for a lot of pre-pharms here because we all usually take the same classes the first year of college.
The 2+3 pre-pharm program requires a high school GPA of 3.75 or higher and either a combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1350 (with at least a 550 in Critical Reading and Math), or an ACT Composite of 30.
UoP has a variety of pre-professional pharmacy frats/sororities to choose from and most of them are co-ed. They’re very helpful in fulfilling your pharmaceutical endeavors and you make a lot connections there. Since pharmacy is essentially a pre-health related major, yes, the classes will be somewhat difficult, but that really depends on how much you challenged yourself in high school and how good you are at the sciences. There’s barely any homework, but there will be a good amount of exams.
There’s not much to do in Stockton, but people usually go to Sac, SF, or SJ on the weekends so it’s not too bad.
