Im an undergraduate political science student from Barcelona with an exchange opportunity to the University of Toronto. The point is that I have to choose between Mississauga or the Arts and Sciences campus (downtown Toronto). I would really appreciate any information you could give me related to the academic level of both faculties, its students quality of life or anything it could be useful for me.

Your choice is between UTM and St George (it’s not called the Arts and Sciences campus). I would highly recommend that you choose St George, which is U of T’s main campus. It’s more highly regarded in academics and it’s also a beautiful spot in the centre of downtown Toronto, where you can take advantage of all that the city has to offer. UTM is in a suburb where you would have a totally different experience.

Yeah, UTM is in an ugly, boring suburb and is itself quite ugly. It also tends to attract many toytown students from central and northern Ontario who want access to the city without being plunged into its noisy, “dangerous” milieu.

On a more practical level, only select courses are offered at the Mississauga campus; for the rest, you have to take a shuttle to downtown Toronto.
