University of Vermont Early Decision/Early Action Fall 2023

This year, the Early Decision (ED)/ Early Action (EA) deadline for the University of Vermont is November 1.

Welcome to U of Vermont Early Decision/Action, Fall 2023. Ask questions. List your unweighted GPA. Any Sat /Act scores and Ecs. Majors you’re going into etc. We are here to help. Good Luck.

My daughter will apply EA. UVM is her first choice school by a longshot. When they say they will notify by late December, does that mean all decisions come out on the same day like often happens with spring notifications? Or do they notify some along the way?

Last year they released EA decisions on December 16 at 5pm. Be sure to follow on Instagram where they will tell you when to expect results. Good luck!

Looking to pursue a career where Psychology, Sustainability and Technology meet to help change the country and the culture to a more sustainable path. It seems like UVM honors college might be a good place to do that. Anyone have insight to the Psychology and Sustainability programs, or a way to have a direct conversation with the Deans there? Thank you.

Does anyone know how UVM admits students to the Honors College?

It’s not a straightforward process where you’re in if you have certain scores or gpa. When both of my kiddos applied, I remember reading several posts in these threads from high stats kids who didn’t get invited to the HC. I think the stats are one aspect, and from there they strive for a balance of schools, majors, geography, etc. so the end result is diverse.

UVM states Honors College consideration is off standard application. No additional application required. There is an ability to apply after first semester, but for initial applicants it is just part of their considration.

Just curious, do they ever release early? Several schools that my daughter applied to are not rolling but are sending out acceptances little by little, vs. in one big dump at the same time. I didn’t realize that schools did that.

Hasn’t happened in the past couple of years.

Since this is the first year (I think) for ED, will UVM release BOTH ED and EA decisions on the same day? Also, does anyone know if UVM includes any merit awards with acceptance letters or at a later date?

Not sure about the first question, but the UVM website states that automatic scholarship offers will arrive with the offer of admission.

Does anyone know when in December UVM tends to send decisions for the early applicants?

Here are the dates I found on their Instagram for the last few years (none given for 2021):

  • 12/17/20
  • 12/12/19
  • 12/13/18

Obviously, I have a senior anxiously awaiting the decision!

For Early Action 2021, UVM announced (via Twitter) on 12/14 that decisions would be released on 12/16 at 5PM ET (which they were)… don’t know whether EA and ED will be released together since this is the first year of ED. But the pattern seems to be the 2nd or 3rd Thursday in December since 2018.

Thank you for the likely dates for Vermont decisions!

Don’t think we can predict this year based on last years. As this is the first time they have ED, there may be some gap between ED and EA decisions.

That’s what I was thinking too!
