University of Vermont vs University of Denver

Hi, guys! My name is Simone, I live in washington DC, and I was accepted to both schools but having trouble deciding on them. Could you help tell me what you all know about the school or actual people you know who go to the schools and what they like/don't like or the pros/cons about the schools?

Thank you so so so much!!

Hi, I live in the Burlington area and my boyfriend goes to UVM. I would say that UVM is pretty standard for a state school. Some facilities are newer than others, some programs are stronger, etc. The campus is pretty nice, there are some really pretty historical building, other buildings aren’t the prettiest. Some of the Newer dorms (green house and honors) are really nice suite style. If you’re interested in skiing, it’s very accessible at UVM. They have a club that sends buses out on weekends and there’s also one that sends out buses daily. The town of Burlington is really nice. The downtown is really fun for shopping and eating, and it’s just large enough that there’s many internships and jobs available for college students. I’m a senior at a local high school, and I just had an internship at a Burlington based advertising agency! It’s right on the lake, which is soooo much fun in the warmer months! You really see all types of people at UVM. There are many liberal/granola people at UVM, as well as in the city of Burlington. There are also lots of normal people, and there’s even a decent amount of very preppy/wealthy students. A majority of students are OOS, so you will see many different types of people.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

Thank you so much! How’s the weather? Is it freezing all the time?

Google is your friend:
[Average Weather for Burlington, VT - Temperature and Precipitation](Ashburn, VA Monthly Weather Forecast - weather.com)
[Average Weather for Denver, CO - Temperature and Precipitation](<a href=“Ashburn, VA Monthly Weather Forecast - weather.com”>Ashburn, VA Monthly Weather Forecast - weather.com)

The weather is not AWFUL… currently it’s 25 degrees out… Obviously it’ll be a change from DC, but I’m assuming that’s what you’re expecting when you look at CO and VT. Burlington gets a little less snow and is a little warmer than surrounding towns because of the lake. It starts snowing in December which is actually very pretty. I would say February is just kind of miserable because it’s just freezing, but then after that it warms up.

It’s not as bad as you would think, but it’s obviously colder than a mid atlantic state.

i don’t think you should use your real name on websites. perhaps you can edit your post.
