I know someone who got into the University of Vermont, but she is not very interested in going. Her top choices are Oberlin, Sarah Lawrence, and Bard. What is the student body at UVM like? She is very quirky and artsy, and she wants to major in English or philosophy, and is concerned that most people there are preppy and interested in things that she does not like. I know very little about the school, and I would appreciate some insight about it. Thanks!

I live in Vermont right now, but don't attend UVM. As public universities go, I think UVM is one of the best and most underrated in the country. I think the student body is quite liberal in general, and I know a bunch of quirky/artsy people who attend. i think even though her other choices are smaller schools she would fit in fine at UVM, plus Burlington is a great college town.

Thanks, College_hopeful. Does anyone else know about UVM?

Their basketball team is pretty decent.

maybe this is just me, but I thought it was the noisiest college campus I'd ever been on!! I was walking around and the sound of blowers and other LOUD equipment on top of the buildings just echoed everywhere and really detracted from the atmosphere of campus.
