Thanks for the info. She just received her offers today for the Elon Honors Fellows and Communications Fellows so she’s chosen Elon! Her dad wanted her to go to UVA but it’s her decision.
My family loves UVa. My eldest son graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. He learned a lot about how to be a good engineer as well as integrity, self respect, and responsibility to the community. He’s working as a production manager at a chemical plant where they make chemicals used in medical masks and gowns (and also for other fabrics). During the Covid 19 pandemic, he’s still on the job due to critical need. Most employees aren’t directly responsible for production and are working from home. This is his first job since graduating from UVa two years ago. I couldn’t be more proud of him. This is what colleges do. They make it possible for our youth to fulfill their dreams, and their graduates in return give back to our communities their talents and skills. It’s so important now more than ever. And it’s helpful to remember that there are many different paths. My daughter applied EA to UVa, she was deferred and then waitlisted in RD. She has many other good choices after her RD decisions. She decided to pursue her own path independent of her brother and won’t be opting into the waitlist. Good health to all during this incredibly stressful and difficult time.
@ Dean J I assume all the Rodman’s offers are out. Do they ever invite more students after they find out how many people decide to choose UVA? My son was really hoping to be offered a Rodman’s spot because of the 1st year dorm cohort. My son doesn’t drink and likes a really academic atmosphere.
I was waitlisted.

@DeanJ
I absolutely agree. My son has 1580 SAT’s, all A’s tons of AP, three sports a year, fencing captain. Denied OSS. What more could they possibly want? Admit to Michigan EA. I’m a little pissed.
