soccer are u rejected from UVA... how did u find out ...

my decision is not up yet... I suppose they were suppose to be online by 30th.........

Oh! No, Kenien, I was just...making a guess cause I'm a sophomore transfer.

Oi, I didn't mean to send a ripple effect of loss of hope. I may be completely wrong guys, I am just speaking out of personal experience with my friends and my self. Some schools (majors) may be easier to get into than others. For example, my friend form last year (sophomore transfer) got wait listed for school of liberal arts, his HS gpa was low, I think a 3.2? but his college (VCU) was a 3.8 but he didn't get in. I didn't get in as a sophomore transfer (for school of arch) with a 3.5 (un weighted GPA) HS, and a 3.7 college. So it does depend on the school.

If your applying for 2nd year instate transfer is UVA or William and Mary generally harder to get into?? If you got in WandM does that pretty much mean you'll get into UVA too? Or is UVA in a different league?

I got waitlisted at William and Mary and I am instate. Hopefully I'll get into UVA since it is my number 1 choice.

UVA and William and Mary are both very competitive, but you can't compare the two. Just because you get in one does not mean you'll get into the other.

It really depends. If your doing the VCCS articulation agreement with UVA for the liberal arts school, you will get in automatically (assuming you are following the exact criterion). If you get into William and Marry, does that mean you'll get into UVa? - Not Necessarily, some majors are more competitive than others in diff. schools

im not applying for a major at uva just general education since im currently only a freshman at jmu

BREAKING NEWS.

Most decisions will be posted on line in 20 minutes.

This is it guys, best of luck.

Transferring to UVA

Oh my god. I am so nervous. I was going to go get food. However, I will wait now.

Rejected to McIntire. Oh well, I still got a smile on my face.

** Rejected from McIntire **

La Gaurdia CC
GPA : 3.82 / 86 credits
All Pre-req completed

Waiting for 7 more universities: NYU(possible to definite rejection), Berkeley (definite rejection), Cornell (possible rejection), WashU (possible rejection), Georgetown (possible rejection), USC (possible acceptance), Indiana (very possible acceptance).

After getting rejected from McIntire...McCombs...I feel I will be rejected from all universities.

Rejected from College of Arts and Sciences.

UVA was my number one choice...

After I finished High School and only got into 2 of the 5 colleges I applied to, I told myself "never again." I wanted to work hard, and achieve my dreams. So I went to my safety school, the college that I really didn't like at all, and buckled down. I got a 4.0 my first semester taking 15 credits. I was involved, I made a good impression with the professors, I worked hard. I spent days writing my transfer essays. After I turned in my application I kept working hard, this semester I am taking 16 credits and currently have a 4.0 again. I finally felt happy and dedicated.

Then I got rejected, rejected from the one school I had dreams of attending from a young age. When I clicked on the page and saw it load and say "Admission: Not Offered" I was stunned. My previous beating heart was silenced in a matter of a millisecond. I now sit here in front of my computer wondering, why does life have to be so harsh?

I think I am going to just lay in my bed for a while...

Best of luck to everyone else.

Sudstar, I am sure if you apply again next year (even for spring admissions?) you would get in if you kept up that 4.0.

No need to be so harsh about not getting in. The major problem is that since you are applying as a first semester sophomore, they only have one semester to make a decision off of and your high school grades. It's only a half a year, that's not a lot of give. All I'm saying is that don't be too harsh on yourself, there's a reason for everything and everything will make sense once you look at it. I know it's kinda hard to see the silver lining here but if you take all your general educations at your current college, transfer next year, then take your major requirements. That is if you're planning on attending graduate school.

I was accepted by the College of Arts and Sciences just minutes ago. I still can't believe it.

My heart really does go out to those of you who weren't as fortunate as I was. I had received 7 straight rejection letters dating from last year to this year until this acceptance. I really encourage you guys to keep at it, don't give up, don't let this get to you. With hard work and perseverance, you'll get where you want in time. Don't let this have anymore of an effect than it should.

Congratulations IsaacDelarge. I wish you the best at UVA. Hopefully I will see you there in Fall of 09. I plan on applying for transfer again. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm.

I got waitlisted...looks like im going to have to apply next year as well even though it looks like it is much harder to transfer directly into mcintire...oh well

I got wait listed too. But It's a given, I am applying to a very competitive major - Architecture, which takes on average 15 transfers. So I should be thankful that I still have a chance.

And Yes people, the wait-listers do have a chance, most of the time, your on wait list for two reasons, one: because of your grades,- and/or - two, spaces available for THAT major. Meaning, if not all students accept the offers for admission, and your spring semester grades are stellar, you MAY have a good chance of getting in.

And to all the sophomores who have been rejected, don't be TOO discouraged. You have to take into affect that they took your HS grades into strong consideration, so If you had great college grades, KEEP THEM UP, thats what they'll consider next year - just keep up the hard work and it will pay off at the end.

To all the Community College students, make sure you have a back up if your applying for junior year, unless your precisely following the articulation agreements.

I am accepted into the school of arts & sciences!!! DREAMS COME TRUE!!! I feel like on of those NBC ads "The more you know". haha
