Hi I am a junior in high school with a GPA of 3.9 out of 4. I got a 28 on my act and I am from out of state. I started a non profit organization and I have had a job for 3 years. I am part of key club and student council for all four years. Also I participated in amnesty international club within my school. I have over 100 hours of volunteering. What are my chances of being excepted to UW Seattle. I know that out of state admission is much more difficult than in state as they accept a significantly lower percent from out of state. Do I have a good chance or should I not even bother applying?
A 3.9 GPA and a 28 ACT is fantastic, and you still have time to bring that ACT score up if you wish. With clubs you’re good, although I am ignorant as to how hard state colleges look at ECs. Your ACT is average with theirs, and your GPA is above average. If you can afford the costs of living in Seattle (it’s expensive) and can afford out-of-state, I say go for it. You have a definite chance.
In our Oregon public school district average RD ACT score for accepted UW applicants is 28. Early acceptances had a 30 ACT average. It is a popular choice for applicants from here but it is a very very big school.
