University of Washington Seattle vs UC-Berkeley

So, I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I just got off the waitlist for the spring semester at UCB, but I’m already enrolled at UW as a direct freshmen admit to their Neurobiology major and as a Chem major there and I only have 3 days to decide where I’m going (I will be studying Neurobio and chem at either school). If someone could help me out with my decision I’d be really thankful

Are you In State or Out of State for either school? Is cost an issue?

[REMOVED]

I’m out of state for both. Cost isn’t an issue for me

So your choice is U of W in the fall or UCB in the spring? You are planning on Graduate School or Med School after your undergrad?

Yeah and I’m thinking med school after

The Berkeley College of Chemistry is best-in-the-world class, but UW is very strong as well and going there will not hurt you in any way. If you have visited both, there’s no reason not to go with the one where you’d feel most at home and enjoy your four years.

Before you say OOS cost is no issue, look at the cost of med school. If you blow your college fund on undergrad, are you going to have big loans for med school? You have a long road to becoming a doctor…

$50K for OOO for UofW, $61K for OOO at Cal. That’s an $11,000 difference per year - no small potatoes. “Cost isn’t an issue for me.” Of course, by “me”, you mean your parents. Save them scratch, go to Washington, and save the difference for med school.
