Hi i’m a high school senior and I was accepted to University of Washington Tacoma but rejected from University of Washington Seattle, which is the campus that I really wanted to go to. From what i’ve heard, the seattle campus has a better campus life and is a lot more rigorous. I know that Tacoma has less major choices and right now I would be premajor, when the major I want is biomedical engineering which is only offered at Seattle. What I want to do is go to Tacoma and try to transfer into Seatlle, but I’m scared that my chances are low since Tacoma is a four year university, and i’m also scared that the student life is very limited at Tacoma and it will be hard to make friends or to just have a good college life. Can anyone give me any advice to help me decide whether it is worth committing to Tacoma in hopes of transferring into Seattle?
Hi,
I am actually in the same boat as you! I recently got rejected from UW seattle however, I was accepted into Tacoma. First, have you considered appealing? That could definitely be an option for you! the chances are not very high however, you don’t know unless you try and I’m definitely going to be appealing!
Also, have you considered going to a community college and then transferring? It would save you a lot of money and I heard it was hard transferring from UW-T to the seattle campus because they want a very good reason. Personally, I plan on appealing for UW seattle admissions but if that does not work I will be attending a community college for a quarter and transferring winter quarter (hopefully).
Hope this helps!
