Which University has a better Tibetan Language Program, Indiana University, or the University of Wisconsin? I want to study on the undergraduate level. Thanks!

Don’t know—both are probably pretty good, but compare things like breath and depth of language and cognate courses (Wisconsin seems deeper); number of faculty specializing in that language and their specific interests; the emphasis of the programs (Wisconsin focuses more on S. Asia, Indiana on Central Asia, both offer related courework on Buddhist Studies, and so on); library holdings and media resources in that language area; funding (e.g., Federal language & area studies grants); how frequently the courses are offered, number of students who concentrate in the area, etc. Also, I think Indiana offers only a minor at the undergrad level, while Wisconsin offers a major. Finally, email the department and seek out more information.
