Hi, So I really want to go to UW…fun campus, sports life, good school, etc… I’ll break down my transcript:
White, Jewish, Long Island NY, classic stuff.
3.76 GPA (93.2%)
1380/2100 SAT (equivalent to about a 31 ACT)
Extra-curriculars: Mock Trial (captain), Debate Team, Editor-in-Chief of school paper, Quiz Bowl, Stock Market, Track Club, Latin class, blah blah blah…
APs: European History, Biology, Language Comp, Government, Psychology, U.S. History.
So based on what I’ve researched, it’s pretty much set that I’d get into Madison. However, my parents would never in their life spend $60,000 on undergraduate school. So, I think I might apply for a half scholarship, which seemed reasonable to me, but I don’t usually know what I’m talking about. Do I have a shot at a merit-half scholarship? I can’t apply for financial aid, because the truth is I probably could afford it-- so it would be merit alone.
What are my chances?
