You might wanna call by now, maybe they lost your app in the first place : ( or maybe you got accepted, or they lost your letter in the mail. Either way, call, good luck :)

Are you serious?? Because their brochure says that people will be invited mid-March... and I am an international student, so I will wait a bit more for the mail to arrive..

Thanks for the advice though.

Waiting on northwestern reply for the medical program

Wow.. wonder why I haven't heard from Wash U.. getting desperate here.. :(

I got rejected too! But as someone already mentioned, with the stats they require...you could go anywhere. Northwestern HPME is SOOO much better. Hopefully I have better luck with that one.

Did anyone else apply to or get an interview with Northwestern HPME?

Check out under the multiple degrees forum; there is a huuuge thread about Northwestern HPME..

Northwestern's awesome, but Wash U is also great!!

I am still waiting.. :(

How many students does Wash U accept into the University Scholars Med Program? I think my son lives across the hall from one of last years Med Scholars.
I guess she has to maintain a 3.8 gpa and do very well on the mcats, and then she is automatically admitted into their excellent medical school.

Wash U's program is really lame. It seems to me they are afraid of compromising the quality of incoming med students yet want to lure top freshmen like other schools' combined programs do; so they come up with this lame hybrid just so they can have it all. Instead of giving the students the peace of mind and the freedom to challenge themselves and take whatever they like without worrying too much about GPA (isn't that one of the major reasons many students pursue that anyway?), WashU's program is easily doing the opposite. I can't speak for others, but if I were accepted into WashU's program, I'd be very tempted to make calculated choices in picking classes and avoid difficult majors such as chemical engineering just so my GPA would remain above 3.8.

I've finally found out on 3/17... :( Rejected -- O well!
But I got into the Undergraduate school -- YAY!
Did ANYONE at all get into USP Medicine?

do you think that applying to usp affects in any way admission to the general undergrad?

By the way, my GC called an officer for the USP in medicine, and he was told that only 20 finalists were chosen out of 2,000 applicants. Of those 20, 5 will actually be accepted into the program. WOW

There were 2,000 applicants for USP in medicine? Wow! That would put the USP-Med acceptence rate at an amazing 0.25%

I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but only accepting 5 people seems kind of stupid. Why have such a program if its only going to benefit 5 people? 5 people is nothing!

I agree. But the competition WAS tough.. no wonder no CCer got into it.

Thats like usc film school (4000 apply, 50 in) and nyu film school (5000, 70 in).

Obviously the program is more for Wash U's benefit (in luring top applicants to apply/look at Wash U) than students'.

I got the nod for the program...

I'm going over to WashU in a couple of days...for a nasty interview + sight tour of school. (Well they pay for it...)
They took 23 kids out of 900, and from that 23 who are flown in, they're choosing 5. Insane. You guys shouldn't be ashamed at all... I looked at your guy's stats, and I just went..."omg..." Certainly, I was very lucky.
