applied for med, didn't get in. I now really regret applying for USP and sships. This just about seals the deal for WUSTL. I'm 99% sure I won't be WUSTL class of 2010 now.

ditto.

ten chars

^^ as in for you guys, if you get in you don't want to go? Or do you not think you will get in?

well you do realize that inorder to KEEP a spot as a University Scholar.. you have to have a 3.8 GPA at Wash U and a 36 on the MCAT... if you can get both of these as an undergraduate.. you'll have a very good shot at the top med. schools anyways.. University Scholars basically saves you from having to think about extracurriculars.. i guess.. but if you're really interested in medicine.. you'd do ECs such as research anyways..

I don't qualify for aid, and I got into somewhere that is better, IMO. So....getting no money from here means why come?

I don't quite understand your question, but I will try my best. I am fairly confident in my abilities to get in to WUSTL (not to be cocky or anything). The past two valedictorians at my school have both gotten in and gone and neither of their stats were quite up to mine. I figured that if I got USP or a scholarship, WUSTL would be a great option for me. However, now with neither, there really is not much attracting me to WUSTL. FYI, one of the valedictorians has transferred because he hated WUSTL so much his freshman year. The other is looking to do the same. I know I sound like a pompous bastard, sorry.

Is it just the washu med USP that is extremely competative or is there only 8 people overall from all majors. It seems clear that most people applied to med, but what about the rest?

Maguo1,

No, you didn't sound like some braggart. Actually, I totally understand how you feel.

What did your school's former valedictorian dislike so much? Just out of curiousity.

One valedictorian thought the school was too "ivy". He wanted a much more relaxed and lower class campus. The student was half Mexican and came from a dirt poor family. He didn't get enough financial aid either.
The other valedictorian was just unhappy with his financial aid package. His family isn't exactly rich either, but the debt's already piling up and he is work way too much per week. However, he is doing very well at Wash U.
