University Scholars-Scholarship GPA requirement

I know someone out there must know, I looked everywhere on the admissions website but can't find what gpa you must have every semester to retain this scholarship I know its either a 3.0 or a 3.5?

3.5. I know because I blew my spring semester of sophomore year and lost it for Fall 2007. But I regained the scholarship for Spring 2008.

You have to have a 3.0 and take at least 28 credits in the Fall and Spring semesters.

I didn't think you could ever regain the University Scholarship for Freshmen once you lose it so perhaps Ladistar is talking about something else.

Found the link.
Florida State University
University Freshman Scholarship

The total amount of this award is $9,600, which will be distributed throughout eight semesters in $1,200 increments at the beginning of each fall and spring semester.

This award replaces any university scholarship that may have previously been offered to you by the Office of Admissions. At the end of each spring term, your University Freshman Scholarship will automatically be renewed for the next two semesters provided you complete the following criteria:

Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester (this does not include earned credits through dual enrollment, AICE, AP, IB, CLEP);

Earn a minimum of 28 total combined hours of credit in the fall and spring semesters at FSU (this does not include hours earned during a summer semester or courses taken at another institution); and

Maintain a cumulative FSU grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Your award will cease after eight semesters. Failure to complete the above criteria will result in the scholarship being rescinded.

If you have any questions, please contact the scholarship coordinator at admsofficer@admin.fsu.edu.

Note that this is a 3.0 FSU GPA. Unlike Bright Futures, you can't use community college summer school classes to pull up your GPA. Also, you can get this reinstated after a semester if you lose it, unless the rules change from year to year.

Really? I never read anything that said you can get the scholarship reinstated if you lose it. That is good to know, just in case. Where did you find out that you can get it reinstated? As you can see from my previous post, it does not mention anything about it on the scholarship acceptance link. Thanks for the information.

We found out from experience, and I was pleasantly surprised. DS lost his FUS for fall but pulled his grades up and got it reinstated for this semester. (Bright Futures takes a full year to get reinstated.) But it might be that you are under the rules that were given when you got the scholarship in the first place, so I wouldn't necessarily count on it. That might explain what you read on the web, or maybe this is just not an advertised policy.

omg are you kidding me. this sucks i have all the requirements except the 28 credits, I've taken 13 both semesters.

That seems to be a common mistake not taking the 28 credits in Fall/Spring.
I assume you have to take 28 credits every renewal year.
Email admsofficer@admin.fsu.edu to see if there is anything you can do and let us know what you find out.

Bright Futures only requires 6 credits per semester (not a full time student for health insurance purposes) and they let you regain the GPA over the summer.
Also, you can drop down to the 75% scholarship if you have a 2.75 GPA.
Bright Futures also says:
If the student drops or adds hours after drop/add, the postsecondary institution is not required to revise the award amount; however, hours dropped may affect the student's renewal eligibility.
