It was suggested that I repost this in the Parents' Forum....just in case the info about this financial safety information is needed by someone...

If someone out there with strong stats (ACT 31+ or 1360 SAT equivalent) has realized that they don't have a financial safety or affordable school, then I would suggest sending a quick app to UA Huntsville. The school is strong in STEM, pre-health professional, nursing, and business majors.

Someone with an ACT 31 or 1360 SAT (M+CR) with a 3.0+ GPA gets ** FREE tuition PLUS $500 towards course fees! ** Remaining costs would be quite low.....about $10k for room, board, books.

If you have an ACT 34 or SAT 1490, then you get **a free ride **as long as you have at least a 3.0 GPA...excellent deal! Tuition up to 32 hours (16 per semester), housing, $500 in course fees, book stipend, and meal plan!

If you look at the first link, there are full tuition and full ride scholarships for high stats.

For those with less than an ACT 31, the amount in the grid is DOUBLED if you're out of state. For instance...if you only have a 1290 SAT or 29 ACT, then you'd get $6k per year which brings OOS tuition down to about $13k....Still a good deal for int'ls who don't have instate price options.

Huntsville is NOT a "southern city"...believe me, I live here. The area is saturated with high-tech transplants from all over the country. The city has one of the highest concentration of PhDs in the nation. I think it was named one of "America's Geekiest Cities"....lol.. because of its "ridiculous number of rocket scientists, engineers and mathematicians" ....but don't let that scare you.

I know that the grads at this school do get jobs...well paid jobs.

The university is located within Cummings Research Park...the second largest research park in the nation....so lots of internship, co-ops, and research opps.

I got a PM regarding the ease of the app process and clarity of merit offers… The app process is very easy. And the scholarship awards are quite clear.

Thanks, I just sent to a friend!

I couldn’t get your second link to work.

Thanks for letting me know that that link isn’t working right…

Try this one…

[UAHuntsville - Welcome](http://www.uah.edu/financial-aid/aid/scholarships/welcome)

It won’t take you directly to the scholarship grid, but if then you click on the link that says:

Click here for 2012 - 2013 Freshmen Merit Award amounts.

Then that link should should take you to the grid. :)

^ Oh sorry, I can’t count  I meant the second one up from the bottom (the waaytv one). Maybe an article about the geekiest region?

See if this one works…
