that's good advice, scion. I don't love cornell b/c it will help me get a better job later on, or paid more - because I know nyu, fordham, bucknell, or any of my other colleges will help me do that as well. Experience matters more than going to a certain school, because a degree from that school isn't automatically going to get you a job. However, cornell is where I would have loved to spend the next four years....I love the school, and the attitude of the students. It has everything I always dreamed for in a college. I don't even know what it is ranked, because it hardly matters, since I know I can get an amazing education there. Of course, I can get one at nyu as well, but nyu doesn't have everything I want atmosphere-wise.

haha I guess we are not alone in this world of failing to achieve our dreams

Good Luck to all. It's really sad here when so many really good students think only of the Ivies and then are devasted when they don't get in. A rare few don't even plan for that continguency. There alot of great schools out there, rankings non-withstanding.

When I was in high school a few years ago, there was alot of pressure to apply to Ivies, which I resisted. I wanted to find a nice place for me. I like the city life so my schools were WashU, Carnegie-Mellon, GWU, Emory and NYU. My favorites came down to Emory and NYU (sorry Dad, he liked Carnegie-Mellon best)and I finally choose NYU. (I knew I'd never have a car in college and Emory although in the city is kind of off the beaten path).

I love NYU and have since the first day. It's working out really well. So stay flexible, choose your own path and make the best of where ever you are.
