Maybe I should have been nicer lol. You’re off to a good start!
Huskies- I cross off things too, well I check them off but I know it feels great :)

Unmotivated as a freshman!? That’s not good. To be honest, I wasn’t all too motivated either. During my first semester of freshman year, I got my first B and I remember thinking that I had to change myself. Afterwards, I became really studious and motivated. I think what you need to succeed is some sort of incentive. For me, its the competition. If you really want to get into a selective school, you better start building your GPA now. You need to start volunteering to get a good amount of community service hours. Also, start applying to summer internships so colleges won’t see that you spent your whole summer, sitting on your butt. Oh, and I hope you got started on that research paper. Good luck and hopefully you’ll get thy motivation back. Trust me, I have senioritis right now, and I’m absolutelyTERRIFIED by the fact that I’ll be attending college in a few months.

Freshman year is VERY important guys. Remember, when you apply to colleges you will only have 3 years of grades to go into your cumulative gpa and transcript. Freshman year is 1/3 of that. Sounds more important now right?

Agreed ^^

And Princeton is the only college I know of that disregards freshman year. So unless you plan on only applying there, and you’re a shoe-in (no one is) then you better whip yourself into shape.

Seconded. You want to sleep a lot, you don’t have interest in anything, you are unmotivated and lack focus, you are withdrawing from social contact… sounds like depression.

^Third…ed

I have no reason to be depressed though.

You don’t need a “reason.” it just happens.

Someone could be perfectly healthy: they eat right and exercise. All of a sudden, they’re diagnosed with diabetes. They didn’t have a reason, it just happened.

Dont rule out options.

Agreed. Tell your parents.
