^You probably want to ask this on a different forum. Maybe on the Parents of 2015 or the individual school forum. Highly doubtful it has anything to do with National Merit because these schools have many Finalists that attend. I doubt they really regard NMF as a significantly distinguishing characteristic in their pool of applicants.
Thank you! I found one about this topic in CC.
@studycollege where did you find the topic on ivy interviews?
@studycollege If you mean interview with the alumuni ,my son also got from all . It is random just based on the availability of alumuni in your area.
studycollege, my daughter got e-mail from the administrative assistant of a Penn alum.
So we’re thinking that the earliest letters could arrive in schools is tomorrow, Wed, 2/5, correct? Do we know if the schools are “allowed” to release this information to students once its received, or do the schools have to wait until Feb 9 or later?
Homeschooler here. No letter today in Indiana.
@GoAskDad my dear, today is Wednesday. (And I was secretly hoping someone would hear as early as today, but tomorrow is surely more likely, even as an earliest date.)

@Varanasi Maybe this article is helping to understand the interview

That sounds great!
@PAMom21I’ll let you know as soon as I receive the LETTER!
@PAMom21…Oh. My. Gosh. You are right! Sheesh. See what this process has done to me?! I don’t even know the days of the week anymore. Surely SOMEONE got a letter today, either our homeschoolers or someone w/a kid in a high school located near NMSC.
I may go over to the High School Class of 2015 thread to see if any of those kids have heard anything.

I agree. If those letters actually went out in Monday’s mail, SOMEONE should have received one today. Maybe they went out at the end of the day, and didn’t actually leave until Tuesday? But even then, those in the Chicago area should have received one? I ran into DS’s principal this afternoon and she said it was definitely not in this afternoon’s mail (in OH).
Well, I’m out in New Mexico, so it will probably take longer for my (or my parent’s) letter to get here than in northern states.
I can’t ask my D’s high school principal. He is still making fun of me for pestering him when the original NMSF letters were due.
I think they go at a discounted bulk rate rather than first class. The semi-finalist letters did not show up in the typical 2-3 day first class window either.
Just updating - homeschool principal here in PA-- no letter today. I will keep you all updated.
Okay, looking back, the SF letters were allegedly mailed on August 26th, a Tuesday. My very generous principal personally notified both me and my son on September 3rd, the following Wednesday. Now it’s very likely that mail actually arrived on the 2nd, but I do think he notified us pretty darn quickly, so that’s a good solid week spent in transit.
