Congrats in advance to everyone who advanced!

Does anyone know when info was sent to the high schools? I thought that was usually a day or two before the letters were mailed home. Good luck everyone

I just confirmed by phone with NMSP that my daughter IS a Finalist! All A’s, PSAT score 215 in NH.

Letters were sent to high schools 1 week ago today. Remember that principals and guidance counselors have a long history of being confused about what NMS info they can share with students and when they can share it.

I also just phoned NMSC, and DD is a finalist. The dude they transferred me too was very nice about it, and he even said “congratulations are in order.” It’s all as expected, but still, what a relief!

Congratulations WasatchWriter! Will certainly help with ridiculous cost of college.

Did you just call the main number at NMSC? I might try to call at lunch…my son is hoping to go to one of those schools that offer crazy $$ for finalists so he is really anxious…

Yes I did. The number is 847-866-5100. Good luck!

Thank you and Congrats!!!

FWIW, I simply asked, “My name is ________ and I’d like to confirm that my daughter is a finalist.” The receptionist transferred me to another office and I asked the same question. The dude there wanted to know DD’s NM number, which I don’t have handy, so he asked for her name and then confirmed her birth date. No fuss, no cajoling.

Thanks, nhuphill. We are one of those families who have really targeted NMF colleges in our search, full-rides especially. This news is huge for us.

The NMSC staff was very helpful and nice in letting me know “congratulations are in order” for our son. While anticipated, it was a relief to hear. Congratulations to everyone else whose children qualified as Finalists, too.

Just called, they were so nice! My S is a finalist…PSAT of 228 and two B’s in high school. Congrats to everyone!

Weird, I called and they wouldn’t tell me. Just said they had already sent out the letters.

Just called! finalist Psat 236, sat 2300, 4.0 UW.

I assume it is like anything else, just depends on who answers the phone… They did say letters were put in the mail today, and that the letters to the high schools were mailed last week. For some reason it takes forever for info to come out of our high school.

Just called, (thanks so much nhuphill for the number and the idea!), and my son is a finalist! Wahoo! He made one B throughout high school; 211 on the PSAT, which was the cutoff score in KY, and a 2150 on the SAT in October…whew; now I want to know when he might find out about the University of Kentucky’s Patterson scholarship? Congrats to all who have made it so far! :-B

We spoke with them on the phone as well and got confirmation that my son is a finalist. (all A’s, 230psat, 2260 sat in Texas) but I would like to hear if anyone has heard that their school got the letter that was supposed to go out last Thursday the 31st. So far I just see phone confirmations.

I work at the same school my son attends, and asked both the principal and head of guidance to let me know as soon as they heard, and no one seems to have received anything yet…

I daresay due to the inclement weather here and in the NE part of the US it might be awhile. Our schools in Western KY have missed the entire week so far.

I called too (I know…controlling mom move but I couldn’t take it). DS is finalist. 2170 SAT, 223 PSAT, 4,0 UW – mama duck proud!
