This is not official, but it seems pretty reliable. If that is the case, Michigan has a shot of landing him for real this time around. At this stage, any good coach that comes in will be welcomed with open arms as a savior. The question is, does Les want to give up a sure bet at LSU (he has averaged more than 10 wins per season there) for a rebuilding job at Michigan?

Since his National Championshop, and even before that, he’s been the Rich Rod to LSU. They don’t appreciate him, and many of the boosters there are against him. I think he has plenty of incentive to go to Michigan.

For big named coaches (read big recruiting) - Miles, Gruden
For umm…idk: Hoke

If we get dan mullen, that would just be plain snake oiling hah, get destroyed by them, then steal their coach.

Les Miles would be ideal. As an alum and previous player, he loves the University. As a previous coach, he understands the system inside and out. As a successfull coach with a NC under his belt, he is respected by recruits and as a leading coach in the SEC, he has access to southern talent. If he joins Michigan, we will be back to our winning ways in 2012. All the recruits who committed this year (that he wants) will remain and he will bring some of his own recruits too. Kenny Hilliard would complement Dennard beautifully!

Les Miles and his agent have known that the question would come up as soon as RichRod was let go. Les may be U-M’s next coach but if not, he playing LSU for a raise and contract extension.

I wouldn’t get worked up over any media reports. Dave Brandon is playing this so close to the vest that his lips probably won’t know the choice until the name of the new coach leaves his mouth.
