Hey - I’m coming to DC next week to tour Georgetown and George Washington and I forgot to make a reservation at American. I was wondering if any American student out there would like to give my dad and I like an unofficial tour/walkthrough. If not: what do you guys suggest I stop by/look at. I’m interested in applying to SIS.

Finals start the 27th, so not many students will have the leisure time to show you around. (My D loves that sort of thing, but I wouldn’t want impose on her time next week.) If you try calling Admissions, they may figure out a way to accommodate you. If not, drop into Admissions once you arrive, and they may be able to squeeze you in if they’ve had a cancellation. I don’t think they’d want to turn away a prospect on their doorstep. In any case, the campus is quite compact and you can just wander around with a campus map (available on the website). You won’t be able to get into a dorm on your own, but they are pretty standard stuff (and less palatial than GW’s). Have a great trip!

Stop by Admissions even if you do find someone to give you an unofficial tour. AU tracks student interest. You definitely want to log your campus visit with them.

Thanks MommaJ and Sikorsky for the info and advice! I’ll probably just get a map and wander for a little bit. I am planning to stop by American on Tuesday afternoon so exams will probably hinder a tour by a student. Thanks again
