I know Admissions has stated that decisions will be released by early May, but I was just wondering if any other prospective transfers have heard if there’s any chance we may be receiving those decisions a littler earlier, say sometime in late April.
To any current W&M students who transferred in, how was the transition? How do you like things now, and just how rigorous are the academics compared to your previous university?
Lastly, what are the most popular off-campus apartment complexes for W&M students?
Prospective transfer here. Last year, I believe someone asked them if they were releasing decisions early to a small cohort of transfers, and they said they anticipated releasing decisions at the same time. I haven’t heard anything about that this year, but you could probably ask on the blog.
Prospective transfer here as well, looked around their blog under all searches for fall transfer, seems like they released admission decisions around April 23-April 29 for the past few years.
Also bumping so any WM Transfers could give a little insight how the transition felt for them and what sort of institution they attended before.
I just got an email asking me for my midterm grades again since I still haven’t submitted them. They said they want them ASAP because they’re trying to wrap things up and get decisions out within a week. They asked for them today and also made them due today so I called them and said I couldn’t get them the grades without bending heaven and earth but I’d do it if they needed and they said don’t worry about it just try getting them next week. I don’t know if them asking me for midterm grades again this far along is good news or bad news. It could just be protocol, or it could mean I’m accepted and they just want the grades, or I’m in a tie race with other applicants … nervous!!!
@Bruton I’d say that’s really good news. Not trying to get your hopes up though haha. But yeah, I sent in my mid term grades back late March. My stats aren’t amazing so I wouldn’t be surprised if I was rejected
@UVAfan23 The rejection and waitlist emails both say something like “William & Mary Admission Decision” . At least that’s what it has been in the past.
Oh okay cool! I hope so too!! I hope you get in this year. What other schools are you applying to? And is W&M your first choice? I visited the campus for the first time in February on a beautiful sunny day and it was a gorgeous campus
Thank you! W&M has the most beautiful campus Yes, William & Mary is my first choice (has been since middle school haha). I also applied to Vassar, Colgate, and Hamilton. I got accepted to Colgate yesterday but haven’t heard from anywhere else yet!
Yay! Congrats, @mockingbird45 wow. Vassar is a very great school! Beautiful too. Are you IS or OOS for W&M? I’m IS and hoping to get in. I only applied to W&M and UVA. I just hope the “boring campus” or “sweatshop for students” rumors aren’t true.
On the ‘Admit It’ blog, W&M Admissions states, “We are still on pace to release transfer admission decisions by the end of April,” so it appears this will be the week. Reverting back to previous years on the blog, it looks like decisions have never been released later than the 28th of April, and the emails normally arrive late, around 6:45pm on average.
Letting you all know… I was just admitted–I’m assuming early since I don’t see a blog. Check e-mails. I have no idea what I’m doing but yeah. Good luck.
