So, I’m currently a sophomore at NYU. I am not really happy here. It’s very expensive to do anything fun and I find myself missing that close knit, college experience that everyone talks about. I’m also not able to do the major I want to do, marketing, because I’m doubtful of my changes of getting into the business school here, Stern. The problem is I have such a bad college GPA (3.2) I doubt I’ll be able to get into a school of equal or better prestige. The good thing is I got a 3.7 last semester but my freshman year was just awful. But I’m just miserable and lonely here and I want out.
I think I would be happier at a liberal arts school, or a smaller school with that traditional college feel, but I’m wondering if I should just tough it out here at NYU since it’s a prestigious school. I’m considering doing a masters in business or marketing after NYU.
Any advice for what I should do or what colleges I should consider transferring to would be great! I got a 2190 (old) SAT score, 3.75 UW high school GPA (4.2 weighted) and hold some leadership positions at NYU, if that matters.
